Christian Music Marketing

Every musician has a story about being overwhelmed, frustrated, and deflated when marketing or promoting their music. This is regardless if you are marketing your music yourself (DIY) or using a music marketing professional. There will be times where it feels like you are “drowning", and that feeling is often caused by not seeing the bigger picture.

There is a saying that Desiderius Erasmus used that I believe is very relevant to Music Marketing: "In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king". ("In regione caecorum rex est luscus" - see: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Desiderius_Erasmus). It means that even someone with limited abilities or opportunities is dominant over, and considered special by, those who have even fewer abilities and opportunities; the value of any ability depends on its prevalence.

Let me apply this to Music Marketing... when you meet someone with more understanding about Music Marketing than you have, you may see him/her as someone special and even more capable than you are. Maybe you will take his/her advice as the best way to move your marketing activities forward... even if that person is actually only half understanding how to go about music marketing, or is an expert in just a small aspect of this broad field.

At ChristianDance.eu, we believe that every artist deserves the best possible return on their music marketing efforts. Regardless of whether you are doing the music marketing yourself (DIY) or work with a professional, we believe that having a second source that shares ideas / experiences / possible strategies will help to boost the quality of your marketing efforts. At a minimum, it will help you to better understand the bigger picture of Music Marketing.

Let me be clear... we are not a music marketing service. Our passion is Christian music. Our aim is to make it easier for people to find new Christian music and artists, as well as support musical talent. There is so much good music and serious talent out there. If our ministry somehow contributes to saving one soul, we feel that it is worth it to do a million times more to save one more. By freely sharing backgrounds / ideas / strategies, we pray that our efforts are contributing to your marketing efforts.
