Alverlis and Her Heartfelt Song Stay With Me

There is so much longing and devotion in Alverlis' latest song, 'Stay With Me.' It's a song that grew from a prayer by Saint Padre Pio called 'Stay With Me'. Saint Padre Pio is a man known for his deep love for God. The desperation with which he pleaded to God to stay with him, otherwise he would surely fall, really touched Alverlis' heart. She wanted to compose a song that would express how she felt when she also prayed this prayer.

Alverlis - Stay With MeThe words are a sincere plea for God's strength, presence, and direction. Lines like 'Stay with me, Lord, for I am weak, I need your strength that I may not fall' will speak to anyone who has ever been going through hard times and looked to God for His support. The lyrics sound intimate and familiar. They easily find their way to the heart, and confirm what we already know… that we all need God's light to shine on our path, especially when we feel surrounded by darkness and uncertainty.

Take a moment to listen to 'Stay With Me'. May this song find its way into your prayers and allow your heart to call out these same words to God: 'Stay With Me'

(Related scripture: Psalm 16:8; John 15:4; Isaiah 41:10)

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"How Good You Are" by ECTaylor: His Goodness Shines in Our Darkest Places

ECTaylor wrote "How Good You Are" one early morning while sitting outside alone, watching the sunrise and listening to the peaceful sounds of the woods. After more than a share of life's challenges, ECTaylor felt something almost sacred as the first light of day broke through the trees. He speaks about a "deep, whispered reminder of God's goodness that shines even in our darkest places." The lyrics immediately set the tone, "When morning breaks with golden light, Your mercy lifts me from the night," a tone of hope. It's amazing how simple wonders of nature, like the sparrow's singing and the flowing of a river, can remind us of God and His constant presence. ECTaylor shares, "I thought about Paul, worshiping God from a prison cell. I finally began to understand just a bit of how he could praise and be thankful in the midst of pain—because when you truly see who God is, gratitude rises above circumstance." Sometimes we are trappe...
