"Testify" by River Valley Worship: Worship Meets Personal Testimony

River Valley Worship's "Testify" is the kind of song that makes you stop and think about your own journey of faith. It invites you to reflect on who you were before you encountered God's grace - stuck in shame, weighed down by the consequences of sin, and feeling lost and surrounded by darkness. The lyrics beautifully capture this life-changing moment: "Locked in my shame and lost in darkness // The shackles of my sin // That's where your love came in." Does it remind you of the freedom you found through faith? Perhaps realizing that others have experienced a similar situation inspires you to follow (or avoid) their example and take a bold leap of faith.

River Valley Worship - Testify"You paid the price and justified me // You made me whole again," growing a longing to pursue this journey of redemption. Their repeated call to "testify" is a call to action. Each time God has done something incredible in your life, share it! God uses our experiences to change the lives of others in ways we can't imagine. "I'm not who I would be, your cross changed the story." When you sit down and think about it, you'll see how other people contributed in one way or another to us reaching out to God and following His lead. To testify is essentially setting an example and talking about our experiences in an honest manner. How people testify plays an essential part in how we grow!

The key message? Grace transforms, and our gratitude should overflow into action, an action that aligns with His personal plan for us. "Testify" is a song that inspires you to tell your story in your own unique way and to walk the talk. Go ahead and give it a listen—you might just find yourself singing along with conviction.

"Hiding Place (Live)" by DBU Chapel Worship: Forgiven, Covered, and Free

How often do you hear worship songs being sung live in the comforts of your day-to-day living? For sure, there are a dime a dozen. Some you commonly share with the person next to you, featuring songs by popular Christian Artists. But there's a certain form of unique sincerity when one discovers a worship song that is yet to break through to a larger audience. This is how the song "Hiding Place" by DBU Chapel Worship featuring Olivia-Grace McKern felt like when I first listened to the song. It felt like a new testimony being told, of one's dedication to find God and remain in his presence.  Taking root from Psalm 32, the song is a collaboration of Olivia with a host of songwriters from the DBU Chapel Worship. Enriching her experience as a songwriter and moving her through the songwriting process. In perhaps a reflection of what the song eventually became, it wasn't so that Olivia conveniently hid behind the DBU Chapel Worship songwriters/musicians. This song is a c...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
