"Restore | Rebuild" by Action Worship: God Is Still Working and Moving Today


Have you ever felt like your church community needs a serious reboot? Another way to say it: "flogging a dead horse!" That's exactly the feeling that triggered Action Worship to write "Restore | Rebuild". This energetic song is the latest addition to their album "Songs For The House, Vol. 2". It emphasizes that "The Church is a living example // Of what God can do."

The lyrics start strong: "He's doing a new thing // Restoring, rebuilding // From ashes to glory // There's more to His story." God is changing us, taking the brokenness, turning it into something beautiful, and giving it purpose. The two choruses are a call to the Church: "The time has come // He's just begun // The Church agrees // Arise in faith // Let hearts awake // That we might see." The call continues with the second chorus: "He is not finished // He is not done // Thank God the best is yet to come // … // God is still moving in this place."

The Church, "It's not just a building // The Church is a living example // Of what God can do." Action Worship encourages us to look around at our own Church communities, "If proof's what you need // Look around you, and see // All the testimonies in this room." Every person's story matters: "Every story's one that He can use // There's no limit to what God can do." 

Now, don't mistake this as a call to the Church, where you can lay back and wait! You are part of the Church! This is also calling you to do your part. Your story matters just as much as your drive to be part of the community.

This song is a plea for the community to unite and look with anticipation as God's glory is still unfolding! So, go ahead, press play, and give "Restore | Rebuild" a listen. May this song reignite your spirit and encourage you to connect to His bigger plan.

"Digging Ditches" Brandon Drit: Preparing for Water You Can’t See

Obedience comes first. The rain comes later. Brandon Drit knows what dry seasons can feel like. His song, “Digging Ditches”, opens on a desert road, with strength fading and a question that probably sounds a lot like yours: “How much longer will this last?” The message of the song grew out of 2 Kings 3:16, and it also marks his first professionally edited and mastered release, a ditch of its own, dug in faith. Picture the following scene. Three armies are stranded in the wilderness with nothing to drink. Then God sends Elisha with a strange order: dig trenches in the dry valley. The promise that follows sounds impossible: “You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink” (2 Kings 3:17). "My Love of Christmas (Peace Starts in Me)" by Avery Stafford: One Heart at Peace Can Change the Room

Peace begins in a willing heart. When did you last open your own time capsule? Avery Stafford found a time capsule somewhere in his mind and opens it in his song “My Love of Christmas (Peace Starts in Me)”. His time capsule contained a Folgers can filled with buttons and thread, a crystal globe, a denim patch, and the scent of Avon cologne. Seemingly ordinary treasures, but each one carries a Christmas that he’s never stopped loving. Avery blends gospel warmth with soulful pop to speak to the child in all of us, the child who still believes that Love leads the way. In the bridge, he wishes that child well, “forever dancing under the starlight with stories yet to tell.” The song also reminds us that memories alone cannot fix a restless / broken world, and he knows it: “We long for happily ever afters, but none of us really knows.” So where does peace begin?
