When did you last stop and remember who God is?
Life moves fast, doesn’t it? Bills pile up, seasons shift, and our attention drifts toward whatever crisis is loudest that day. True Vine wrote “In Awe of You” to interrupt that drift. The song pulls our eyes off our circumstances and points them back to God Himself — not what He’s done for us lately, but who He simply is. Drawing from the names Scripture gives Him — Elohim, Adonai, El Shaddai, the Great I Am — the lyrics declare, “Who compares to You?” That’s not a rhetorical flourish. It’s an honest question worth sitting with.
Think about the weight in a name like El Shaddai, God Almighty, or Adonai, Lord and Master. These aren’t titles pulled from nowhere. Each of His names is a testimony. Testimonies by people who have witnessed how He provided, protected, and stayed faithful when nothing else proved to be steady. The lyrics call Him “Faithful and True,” and the bridge declares: “The heavens are roaring, declaring Your glory.”
This line follows Psalm 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” Creation doesn’t wait for perfect conditions to praise Him. Stars don’t dim their shine because the night feels long. So why do we let our praise depend on how our week has been going?
Here’s what you can do (differently) today: Flip it around! Stop measuring God by your circumstances, and start measuring your circumstances by the size of your God. Slow down your pace for a couple of minutes. Name who He’s been to you — provider, healer, the One who’s never left. Let gratitude replace your worries, even briefly. Surrender doesn’t require you to have everything figured out; it just asks you to remember whose hands you’re in.
Give this song a listen and let it reset your focus. Sing along, even if it’s just under your breath. “Worthy of all my praise, oh Mighty One.”

Background:
“In Awe of You” was written as a worship song that shifts our attention away from our circumstances and back to who God is. It was inspired by the names and character of God throughout Scripture — Elohim, Adonai, El Shaddai, the Great I Am — and by the realization that no matter what season we are walking through, He remains worthy of our worship.
The heart behind the song is reverence, gratitude, and surrender: slowing down, remembering His greatness and faithfulness, and simply standing in awe of Him.
