Lynn Chen wrote this song during a time when feeling numb and emotionless seemed to be the new normal. She couldn't go to Him or reach out to people. She felt emotionless. Can you relate that? That is such a comforting truth! The lyrics invite you to lean on God's unwavering presence instead of our own understanding. 

There is freedom that comes from admitting: 'You're still freeing me, Though the pain is real, I am giving you control.' Giving God control is an important part of our healing process, and God's hand is always steady through it all. The bridge of the song, 'When I can't see your light, And all hope is out of sight, I am leaning on your Spirit in me,' particularly resonates with anyone who has looked to God for comfort during dark times.
