Ryan Leigh - PSALM 139 (CCM)

Ryan Leigh - PSALM 139
Ryan Leigh has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called 'PSALM 139'.

Ryan is a singer-songwriter & worship leader based in Atlanta, GA. She grew up singing in baptist churches while listening to Lauryn Hill, Jonathan McReynolds, Beyonce, Fred Hammond, Mariah, & Whitney amongst others.

Thousands of years ago David and other psalmists wrote these beautiful songs for the Lord. Psalm 139 is one of Ryan's favorite psalms. She's always wondered what they sounded like .... this song is where her imagination has taken her.

Psalm 139 talks of  God's omnipresence and personal understanding of us, which gives us an outsized feeling of hope and comfort in the face of hardship and trial. From birth to death, He sees us, cares for us, and promises to always be there for us. Ryan invites us to consider what it must mean to live with the understanding that God is present in all places and at all times.

Ryan shares: 'My goal is to compel people to learn, know, and trust the Lord. I joined Tik Tok in July 2022, and the Holy Spirit asked me to sing the psalms. I had been meditating on Psalm 139 for weeks before, so when I sat with my guitar, it took me no more than an hour to produce the psalm and upload a video that later went viral. While I never meant for this song to actually be one that was released, I know it is very intentional that people have been introduced to my music in this way. I am SO looking forward to sharing more.'

Ryan is currently working on her debut project with such music influences.

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Eyes Like Fire" by Luminate House - Reclaiming the Awe of Holiness

Eyes Like Fire is the type of song that one wants to listen to whenever one feels like he is on a spiritual warfare. The upbeat sound coupled with the repetitive chanting of such words as "Eyes like fire Hair like wool Face like the sun Voice like thunder Hand full of stars And the sword in his mouth Holding the keys Of death and grave" reinvigorates one's spirit to sing in Praise and Glory to God. It brings us to a place of awe, to which being in Jesus' presence is what it truly feels like. And the lyrics of the song are rich in visual expositions. Further giving life to one's imagination.  Though it's a worship song, it's the type of song that you can imagine being sang in an open field, like envisioning a huge concert scene… but not for any earthly reasons, but for a deeper meaning. The song truly reminds me of some traces of secular songs such as Coldplay. But this one to empower all of us to sing our praises to God. And that's what make this song...
