Perry Lahaie - Crashed Into Grace (CCM)

Perry Lahaie's song 'Crashed Into Grace' is a powerful testimony of God's amazing grace and the transformational power of Jesus Christ. The song is a reminder that no matter how far we may have strayed from God, He is always waiting with open arms to welcome us back into His loving embrace.

The background of the song reveals Perry's personal experience of shame and how it almost ruined his life. As a teenager, he struggled with pursuing his own selfish desires and was wounded deeply by shame. He believed that what he had done was who he was and who he would always be. Despite having started following Jesus at the age of 10 and experiencing an amazing filling of the Holy Spirit at 16, the wounds of shame continued to poison him.

One night while playing pick-up hoops at the Rec Center in Cheboygan, MI, Perry suffered a devastating injury when he landed on someone's foot while going for a rebound. He was in excruciating pain, and his friends had to carry him home and lay him on the couch. It was then that he asked his mother to pray for him.

As his mother prayed, Perry felt a warmth in his ankle, and the pain disappeared instantly. He was amazed that Jesus would heal him, knowing every dark secret of his life. This experience was his 'crash into grace,' where Jesus collided with him as he was running fast in his own direction. The collision blew him apart, but Jesus began putting him back together, making him a new creation.

Perry Lahaie - Crashed Into GraceFor many years, Perry wanted to write a song about this experience, and he finally did so in 2022. The lyrics of the song capture the essence of what happened to him and what it means to experience God's grace.

The song begins with Perry describing how he was running hard, running fast, and running in the night. He was out of control, out of his mind, and completely blind. He was loving sin and hating it at the same time and was surely the Devil's slave. He was way out of his lane when he saw Jesus' face, and he knew it was too late.

The chorus of the song captures the essence of the experience that Perry had. He crashed into grace, and it blew him away. It was like a life-wrecking wave that ended his old life, but he was raised to new life from death. The crash and the cry that he experienced were the end of his old life, but they were the beginning of a new life in Christ.

The second verse of the song describes how Jesus came running hard, running fast, and running right at Perry. He was like a river, a flood, a furious love, like a raging sea. Perry was such a wicked mess, but Jesus came to save him. He was right in the way, shouting Perry's name, and Perry saw Jesus' shining face.

The bridge of the song captures the heart of the gospel message. Jesus brought Perry back to life, and He was kneeling by his side. Perry saw the passion in Jesus' eyes and the scars in His hands. Jesus said to Perry, 'Come and follow me. I've loved you from eternity, and I'm filling you now to heal, restore, and cleanse.'

The final chorus of the song is a powerful reminder that Perry's crash into grace was the most beautiful face he had ever seen. Jesus bore the filth of his shame, and He was pierced with a spear for Perry's sake. But Jesus trampled the grave and raised Perry to new life.

'Crashed Into Grace' is a beautiful and powerful song that captures the essence of God's amazing grace. Perry Lahaie's personal testimony of shame, healing, and transformation is an inspiration to all who listen.

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Eyes Like Fire" by Luminate House - Reclaiming the Awe of Holiness

Eyes Like Fire is the type of song that one wants to listen to whenever one feels like he is on a spiritual warfare. The upbeat sound coupled with the repetitive chanting of such words as "Eyes like fire Hair like wool Face like the sun Voice like thunder Hand full of stars And the sword in his mouth Holding the keys Of death and grave" reinvigorates one's spirit to sing in Praise and Glory to God. It brings us to a place of awe, to which being in Jesus' presence is what it truly feels like. And the lyrics of the song are rich in visual expositions. Further giving life to one's imagination.  Though it's a worship song, it's the type of song that you can imagine being sang in an open field, like envisioning a huge concert scene… but not for any earthly reasons, but for a deeper meaning. The song truly reminds me of some traces of secular songs such as Coldplay. But this one to empower all of us to sing our praises to God. And that's what make this song...
