Kayla Spurlock's 'Yes, He Will' - Finding His Light in the Darkest Nights


In the middle of all of the turmoil that is taking place across the world, "Yes, He Will" by Kayla Spurlock has a powerful message that we all need to hear. With the terrible events of October 7, 2023, in mind - when Israel was invaded - Kayla wrote this song as a testimony that Christ is watching over us, comforting us, and even holding us, dispite the man-made acts of extreme aggression that we are witnessing today. 

Kayla Spurlock Music - Yes, He WillThe song applies to all world conflicts as well as the difficult life circumstances we may be going through - the strife and turmoil that touches (or may even crashes into) our lives, both globally and personally. Kayla doesn't hesitate to bring the fears and doubts to life that gnaw at our sense of peace. "When a rocket screams in the dead of night, Every eye reflects the bright orange light," she begins, setting a scene filled with terror that is the current reality to so many innocent people. This scene is quickly replaced with a powerful chorus: "Yes, He will! And He calms every scream and every cry," a reminder of the constant presence of God's love and His eternal promise of protection. No, it isn't easy to imagine how this works when you see the pictures of total destruction, the killing, the attempts back and forth to justify acts of aggression, acts that are difficult, maybe even impossible, to justify in God's eyes. Even though we can't see the bigger picture, we can choose to keep our focus on God. We can trust that He will calm every scream and cry, even when we don't understand the how and when. 

Kayla's background as a music educator and an impressive number of awards and recognitions for her music are reflected in the quality of this production and the message of the song. 'Yes, He Will' isn't the instant answer for all of our doubts and feelings of insecurity, but it does point everyone who feels caught in the night and is searching for a dawn to the one and only source that will guide us into His light. 

I encourage you to listen and let the words ignite a flame of faith in your heart. May 'Yes, He Will,' be a companion during our moments of doubt and remind us that God is always in control.
