"I Am A Child Of God (EP)" by Thankfully Christian: A Celebration of Our Identity and Faith In God

David, known as Thankfully Christian, pours his life's journey into his EP, "I Am A Child Of God." Growing up in a traditional church setting, David was blessed with parents who instilled faith in him at an early age.

Thankfully Christian - I Am A Child Of God (EP)Tragically, he lost his parents while he was young and turned to Christ with full dedication and found his purpose in sharing God's love through music. This EP reflects his connection with God, making this EP a joyful declaration of his identity in Him.

The lyrics of these songs are filled with confidence and gratitude, reminding us of our place as beloved children of God. Here is a summary of the message and intent of each song:

  1. Take It To The Cross is an upbeat track that encourages us to surrender sin, embrace faith, and follow Jesus daily. With a catchy refrain, it reminds us to live in His light, guided by grace, love, and truth, as we pursue His purpose and lift everything to the cross.
  2. Living Water, Eternal Life highlights our longing for spiritual fulfillment and the freedom that we can only find in Christ's love. It invites us to quench our thirst with His living water, embrace His light, and thrive in His Spirit, all while celebrating eternal life through heartfelt worship and joyous praise.
  3. I Am A Child Of God is a song full of joy and assurance, reminding us of our identity as a child of God. With hands lifted high and hearts open wide, it celebrates unwavering faith, grace, and trust in His plan. The message of this song helps us to embrace every challenge with His love and a smile in our heart and soul that reflects His glory.
  4. Do Not Fear is a reassuring song based on Psalm 23. It reminds us of God's constant presence and care. The lyrics use the imagery that we also find in this Psalm, the imagery of still waters, dark valleys, and overflowing blessings, to encourage us to place our trust in His guidance, find comfort in His protection, and face life's challenges without fear.
  5. Awaken My Soul is a worship song that invites us to stand up and celebrate God's unending love and mercy. The lyrics make use of imagery of morning dew, sheltering wings, and radiant light, intended to remind us that His presence renews our spirit, chases away fear, and fills our hearts to overflow, regardless if we are facing times of joy or pain.

Through this EP, David invites us to embrace our spiritual identity with joy and boldness. We belong to something greater, anchored in love, faith, and hope. We all may proudly and boldly declare, "I am a child of God!"

"Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" by Stephen M. Miller: Holding On to Grace at Heaven’s Door

Stephen M. Miller's "Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" comes in the quiet aftermath of the Christmas celebrations, when reflection can feel like isolation. Stephen's song isn't about polishing away his mistakes, nor does it encourage you to do so with your mistakes. Stephen shares his painful experience, "I never saw it coming Lord // It felt right but it was wrong // Family and friends have left me // But I still have you and a song."   Stephen owns the fallout of his actions, taking accountability without despair. "I said it and I did it, Lord // Broke more hearts than I'll ever know // I can't fix this, though I've tried // Don't be angry, and please don't go." His song is a prayer for God's presence and guidance. "Hear me when I call you, Lord // Don't turn your face away // Don't give up on me like others have // Come help me through this day." Stephen describes a fear that we too experience when we ...

"What's That I Hear? (Murrell Ewing Cover)" by The Fosters: When Gospel Comes Home

What if one song could make you feel the pull of heaven so strongly that your heart wishes: "Please don't wake me // For soon the eastern sky will part and I'll see His face." That's exactly what The Fosters deliver with their reimagining of Murrell & Joan Ewing's 1978 classic, "What's That I Hear?" Originally a staple of Rev. Murrell Ewing's ministry and later recorded by various southern gospel legends, this song has been brought home, straight back to its Pentecostal roots. Andrew, Devi, and their three children breathe new life into it, layering family harmony over a real brass section that powers a Sunday morning revival. The longing that is at the heart of this song is unmistakable: "This old world has lost its charm; it's no place for me." It touches a feeling that many believers know quite well, a sense of restlessness and longing for something larger than what this earthly life has to offer. The song reminds us th...

(by Jasper Tan) "Living Proof" by Island Tribe Collective (featuring Sherwin Gardner, Marc Isaacs, and Alicia Taylor) is a live recording of a powerful, high-energy worship anthem that embodies what the collective calls "Caribbean Worship." The group invites us into a celebration of faith, utilizing the culture from the Caribbean islands and how they express it as a living proof of God's goodness. Their repeated proclamation of "Lord, I'm living proof" aims to drive down the message that each one of us is already a living proof of God's faithfulness love, and mercy. We all have our own unique faith experiences and stories that could somehow inspire the people around us. So for those of us who have been know for our strong faith, being able to overcome our struggles and testify about it, brings a more concrete testimony an...
