"Savior" by Thoughts And Notions: Celebrating 20 Years of Worship

Thoughts And Notions' 20th Anniversary Edition of "Savior" is a heartfelt comeback that links the past with the present with a new recording of earlier work. And… as expected with all of the experience they gained during those 20 years, their artistic maturity can be heard in this updated rendition for a new generation. Savior was their very first praise and worship song. It was initially recorded in 2004 for their first album, "In Awe of His Amazing Love," a fundraising project for their church.

Thoughts And Notions - Savior (20th Anniversary Edition)The lyrics are very relatable for anyone who's ever felt "shaken, broken, failing" or lost in life's chaos. "You're my answer, my lord and founder," they sing—a reminder that Jesus is the ultimate anchor and stronghold in life.

The chorus, "Lord Jesus my savior / You came and became my redeemer / I was lost but you saved me," hope for anyone who feels they're drowning in confusion. As the song continues, it shifts to celebration: "There is nothing more I need in my life / Now I want to celebrate this life with you." It invites you to replace despair with devotion and embrace a life lived fully for God.

With its fresh yet nostalgic vibe, this song points you to the One who is always there, ready to lead you home, no matter how far you've wandered.

"Hiding Place (Live)" by DBU Chapel Worship: Forgiven, Covered, and Free

How often do you hear worship songs being sung live in the comforts of your day-to-day living? For sure, there are a dime a dozen. Some you commonly share with the person next to you, featuring songs by popular Christian Artists. But there's a certain form of unique sincerity when one discovers a worship song that is yet to break through to a larger audience. This is how the song "Hiding Place" by DBU Chapel Worship featuring Olivia-Grace McKern felt like when I first listened to the song. It felt like a new testimony being told, of one's dedication to find God and remain in his presence.  Taking root from Psalm 32, the song is a collaboration of Olivia with a host of songwriters from the DBU Chapel Worship. Enriching her experience as a songwriter and moving her through the songwriting process. In perhaps a reflection of what the song eventually became, it wasn't so that Olivia conveniently hid behind the DBU Chapel Worship songwriters/musicians. This song is a c...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
