"Change Coming On" by Robert Peterson and The Crusade: Feeling the Shift Towards Hope


Ever feel like life's a bit… frosty? Or that you're longing for something more profound and meaningful in life? Robert Peterson and The Crusade connect with that feeling. In their second release, "Change Coming On," they explore the search for meaning and change. Robert Peterson, who has been playing music since his early teens, has an interesting approach to writing lyrics. He is especially careful that his lyrics do not immediately lead to people labeling the song as "Christian," and tries to avoid classifications like "Christian Rock" so that he can reach a larger audience with his message. People who otherwise would be turned off by overt religious references.

Lyrics that are inviting you to surrender and being open to the change that God brings, without using any terms that would immediately identify the song as being Christian.

The song also touches on our search for meaning and purpose, "Give all your time and still going nowhere fast // Has to be something that makes it all worthwhile," emphasizing the importance of trusting words that are pure and genuine. The lyrics talk about the changes that we are seeing in the world, "And now the world has changed in oh so many ways // It's really happening in these latter days." This alludes to our Lord and Savior, who "came into this life to set us free // And left a mark for all eternity." The song ends with the reassurance that "it's waiting for you there in paradise," and urges us to listen to our inner calling and not delay living with purpose.

This song gives us a gentle hint of a larger hope, a reassurance that God is really in charge and that there is a special place waiting for all who respond to His call.
