"I Call You Friend" by George Case - Walking with the King as a Friend

George Case's "I Call You Friend" is a song about connection, intimacy, and the beauty of being able to Jesus your friend. The lyrics are inspired by John 15:13, "… I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends …". George reminds us that Jesus chooses to have a deep and personal relationship with us (if you let Him), and to walk with us no matter what we are going through.

George Case - I Call You FriendGeorge shares that he grew up in a musically gifted Southern Baptist family in Pickens, South Carolina, and traveled the world during his 26 years of service in the U.S. military, experiences that shaped his life and have uniquely shaped his music ministry. He is now a full-time musician that releases songs that speak to the heart of the global Church.

This song is an invitation to see Jesus as the most loyal and intimate friend we could possibly imagine. "You're called Prince of Peace, King of Kings // Creator of life and everything," which may make us feel as if He is very distant. But despite His majesty, He remains approachable and wishes that we too will see Him as our friend. George describes the kind of friend that Jesus is. "You never let me down, it's just what You do." Doubts and lies lurk around the corner, "Some say you're just a myth, just a fairy tale," and the best way to counter this kind of skepticism is with a personal testimony: "I know You changed my life, I know it well."

The key ingredient to a strong and durable faith is to deepen your bond with God. May this song help you to further grow your relationship with our Lord and Savior, and remind you how near He really is.

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Sunlight (Storge)" by Chelsea Chaisson: Reminisce the Simpler Times

(by Jasper Tan) Feel good, light-hearted, easy listening track. That's how I find Chelsea Chaisson's new single called "Sunlight (Storge)." I was kind of curious what the word "Storge" means, so I had to look it up. According to Wikipedia, "Storge is a Greek word that refers to natural, familial affection or love, particularly the bond between parents and children, as well as among family members and close friends. It is characterized by familiarity, dependence, and loyalty, often rooted in kinship bonds and shared experiences." Sounds very familiar? Of course, it should be, because as per the description, it actually describes what Christian love is. Or should I say how God loves us as His children? Chelsea was inspired to write this song by reminiscing about her childhood, marked by simpler times spent with her cousins and their grandma.  Countless times, we always heard the saying that we all should have faith like a child. The reason for that i...
