"Oceans (Hillsong Cover)" by Tiffany Ford - Stepping into the Unknown with Faith


Life can at times feel like a stormy sea! Do you recognize that feeling? Tiffany Ford does, and Oceans by Hillsong is one of her 'go-to' songs for those rough times in life. She released a beautiful cover of Oceans, and shared how faith became her anchor when her life seemed so overwhelming. "Seemed" is the key word here, because in her moments of doubt and fear she discovered that God was meeting her exactly where she stood — by her side as she stood on shaky ground or in deep waters.

It's a beautiful invitation to step out of your comfort zone, even when it feels quite risky. With this cover, Tiffany is reminding us (and herself) that He is there when we get of our comfort zone. We can count on Him being there to guide us — "Your sovereign hand will be my guide" — and His presence is going to lead us to peace amid chaos… if we follow His guidance! The song repeats, "Spirit lead me," echoing the prayer many of us need to pray: a prayer of surrender, openness, and reliance on His wisdom. 

Ocean is such a powerful song, and Tiffany's rendition is a welcome addition. If you're needing encouragement to really put your trust in God, then we recommend that you give this song a listen. Let it remind you that He's always near, and there to walk beside you and guide you all the way.

"King Of All Nations" by Ezra Worship Initiative: Sing Today What Heaven Will Sing Forever

Your worship today echoes eternity. Ezra Worship Initiative trains young worship leaders through a ten-week, seminary-based internship. Their songwriters learn Scripture first and melody second. You can hear this in their latest release, “King Of All Nations,” a song written for congregations to sing. The song opens as a prayer: “May Your Name be proclaimed in all creation.” Who does the proclaiming? The Church does. The second verse asks God to “send Your Church to go and tell the gospel story,” which puts all who sing this right inside the request. Who on your street has never heard His name from you? "No Other Name" by Joakim Arenius and Josef Tingbratt: Hope That Outlasts the Darkness

Darkness grips hard, but one name holds harder. Where do you turn when your strength runs out? Josef Tingbratt and Joakim Arenius wrote “No Other Name” for that moment. Their song follows a man who is “Restless weary and alone,” “So many miles from home.” Inner voices that treat him unkindly. Then a night raid brings brutal violence: “They tried to break his body down, but they could not break his crown.” Notice what he does when “darkness gets its grip.” He calls Jesus: “Jesus, Jesus hear my cry.” No fancy words, just a cry.
