"Not Alone" by Cultivation Worship (ft. Daniel Maurer): Finding Home in Christ

"Not Alone" by Cultivation Worship is a powerful debut song with pop and rock influences. The lyrics are inspired by Old Testament stories and look at the intimate connection we now may have with God through Jesus.

Cultivation Worship x Daniel Maurer - Not AloneThe lyrics capture this closeness to God that we may have: "What kept us distant, now removed // Clay and creator now commune." It reminds us how Christ tears down barriers: "No curtain, no veil could hold me back." There is nothing that can stop Him from being within our reach, and ready to be part of our lives: "This orphan has found a home // Now I'm not alone."

He knows us, leads us, and renews us: "What once was stained is now made new." What a joy He brings! He sees us, loves us for who we are and what we may become, and gives us purpose: "In you I'm fully known." He has stripped everything He can to take away the distance, and the only thing that is left is our heart, and only we can turn our heart around. The simple truth is that beautiful things happen when we call out: "There's nothing I want more than you."

This beautiful and inspiring song, born from Cleveland-based worshippers, is a beautiful reminder that we're never alone! God is always near, and He wants an intimate relationship with you. "What kept us distant, now removed // Clay and creator now commune."

May this song bring you comfort and clarity, especially if you're feeling that God is distant or need a reminder that He does see you and wants to be an active part of your life.

Skillet - Valley of Death (CCM)

Skillet has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Valley of Death. The global health crisis of the last two years has led to numerous questions regarding why bad things happen to good people. Skillet's John Cooper explains why he believes God allowed the pandemic to happen. Skillet has released their new album Dominion through Atlantic Records last Friday (Jan. 14). A discussion with 'Loudwire Nights' host Toni Gonzalez brought up the track "Valley of Death," which contains the lyrics: "Someone said this is all part of the plan / But I don't understand." Gonzalez then asked him why he thinks God would allow a pandemic. This is what Cooper said: "Well, the first answer is that we're not good people. We're all fallen and we are all in desperate need of salvation through Jesus. So, we're not actually good people, we all do bad stuff. We all cheat, we've all lied, we're all greedy and as much as the most lov...

"Sunlight (Storge)" by Chelsea Chaisson: Reminisce the Simpler Times

(by Jasper Tan) Feel good, light-hearted, easy listening track. That's how I find Chelsea Chaisson's new single called "Sunlight (Storge)." I was kind of curious what the word "Storge" means, so I had to look it up. According to Wikipedia, "Storge is a Greek word that refers to natural, familial affection or love, particularly the bond between parents and children, as well as among family members and close friends. It is characterized by familiarity, dependence, and loyalty, often rooted in kinship bonds and shared experiences." Sounds very familiar? Of course, it should be, because as per the description, it actually describes what Christian love is. Or should I say how God loves us as His children? Chelsea was inspired to write this song by reminiscing about her childhood, marked by simpler times spent with her cousins and their grandma.  Countless times, we always heard the saying that we all should have faith like a child. The reason for that i...

"In the Room" by Matt Maher feat. Chris Brown: A Heartfelt Desire for Divine Presence

Matt Maher's collaboration with Chris Brown, 'In the Room,' is a soul-stirring Christian song that encapsulates the profound longing to witness transformative moments in the presence of God. The lyrics express the desire to be present when God's power touches broken hearts, ignites faith, and brings healing. The song's verses convey a yearning for those irreplaceable instances when heaven and earth intersect, leading to changed hearts and restored lives. The chorus's declaration, ' I just wanna be in the room when You move,' beautifully encapsulates the eagerness to witness God's miraculous work up close. The bridge's vivid imagery of tearing off the roof and pushing through the crowd reflects the determination to encounter God, no matter the obstacles. The repetition of the bridge emphasizes the earnest plea to witness God's breakthroughs and freedom. 'In the Room' is an invitation to be part of moments that are greater than oneself...
