"Unknown"by Heather Suzanne: Trust in the twist


Heather Suzanne wrote "Unknown" after thinking her life was headed toward calm and then watching it flip. Plans shifted. Certainty thinned. But that isn't the end; it's the start of the next exciting chapter in our journey. The key message of the song is simple: we may not always understand, but God doesn't waste detours. So trust Him with all of your heart and follow His guidance into the unknown. 

Heather Suzanne - UnknownIn the verses, Heather starts by asking why she was brought to this point, where everything looks dim: "Oh Lord, why did you lead me here // When all I see is doubt and the path looks too dark." She expected to be heading to quiet streams in life but all of a sudden finds herself squinting at a shadowed road. The ground under her feet feels unstable, and there are fault lines all around her. Her pain and doubt are honest, and her choice of what to do with those feelings is what makes this song so powerful. 

Though we can't understand every reason, "Oh, I don't understand sometimes," we are encouraged to look at the bigger picture, "All the ways You work for good in my life." God has a plan for us, so: "… I trust You with all of my soul // So I will follow You into the unknown." This isn't the time to freeze up but to follow Him. 

The chorus widens our view; the valleys and summits, dry places and sweeping blue, canyons and trenches, and every terrain become an altar for trust and obedience. The unknown isn't a threat but a place where we meet grace. 

What stands out in this song isn't despair, but trust and surrender. Trust God's good purpose when the explanations are scarce. Lean in, breathe, and let this song steady your steps today. When you're on an unknown path in life, may this song remind you that God is working out all things for your good—even in the unknown.

“I Believe” by Reagan Nichole: A Ten-Year-Old’s Bold Declaration of Faith

What if darkness can’t stay where Jesus lives? Eleven-year-old Reagan Nichole from Texas wrote “I Believe” right after she turned ten. Most of us wait decades before saying what we believe out loud. She sings it! Her opening lines name a fear many people quietly carry with them: “You think that you’ve gone way too far, that there’s no way to turn back.” Have you ever felt that? Reagan reminds us of a promise. Jesus “will wash you clean.” No résumé required. No catching up. She calls the song her personal declaration that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Her faith isn’t a Sunday event. It lives in everyday life and turns dark to light. She sings: “I know He makes the darkness flee.” Jesus said the same thing long before any songwriter did. "Digging Ditches" Brandon Drit: Preparing for Water You Can’t See

Obedience comes first. The rain comes later. Brandon Drit knows what dry seasons can feel like. His song, “Digging Ditches”, opens on a desert road, with strength fading and a question that probably sounds a lot like yours: “How much longer will this last?” The message of the song grew out of 2 Kings 3:16, and it also marks his first professionally edited and mastered release, a ditch of its own, dug in faith. Picture the following scene. Three armies are stranded in the wilderness with nothing to drink. Then God sends Elisha with a strange order: dig trenches in the dry valley. The promise that follows sounds impossible: “You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink” (2 Kings 3:17). Digging in a drought will seem foolish to some. Who on earth shovels dirt for rain that hasn’t shown up? Only the people who trust the One who promised it.
