Praise The Lord – Adam and Ali Curry – Heartbeat of Worship

There's a certain epicness to the song by Christian couple/duo Adam and Ali Curry's latest single, "Praise the Lord." With its epicness truly reflecting the grandiosity of worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The song starts with a sincere call to reach out to our Savior. Striking a conversation, perhaps a plea and a prayer. Until the song progresses to a crescendo, lifting our voices to Praise the Lord in unison. This is what makes the song so beautiful; it does not limit itself to the artist's interpretation of the song. But rather, it enjoins us to join them in praising the Lord.

Adam and Ali Curry - Praise The LordDerived from Psalm 28, Adam and Ali beautifully combined lines from Psalm 28 to create a grandiose and heartfelt song, making the lyrics relevant to our world today. As the artist shares, the song took inspiration from the heart of this Psalm, which both declares God's greatness and prays for His mercy. The song speaks directly to where many believers find themselves in seasons of trial and struggle. The song is intended to lead the listener towards an attitude of reverence before an almighty creator, as well as a posture of surrender to a loving and protective Father, both of which create an intimacy with God that we respond to with worship. It's no surprise that both Adam and Ali were able to beautifully craft the sound of this song, singing it to their heart's desire to give Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. When one reaches a certain level of deeper intimacy with our Lord, the product of worship given to him will naturally feel sincere and pure. And you can certainly tell that that's how the music was able to embody the words from Psalm 28.

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Thank You Lord" by Sandra Lamb: When Worship Becomes Your Daily Habit

"Thank You Lord" by Sandra Lamb is a beautiful reminder that expressing your gratitude isn't just for those perfect days. The song starts by declaring God's greatness and invites you to constantly praise His greatness. In other words, worship isn't something that you do when you're in the right mood. Praising God is continuous, almost like a habit / a mindset. It's looking at the world, your life, and seeing God's greatness in everything.  The lyrics don't ignore the grey seasons in life… It walks us straight through them to His greatness. Instead of sinking into despair, we're encouraged to lift our hands, praise our Lord, and make a decision to praise God's name no matter what comes our way. Why? Because God's kindness shows up in our lives every single day. He opens doors and creates paths that previously seemed impossible… "You always show me kindness every day // You always made a way // Where there seems no way." Let...
