The Christian Music Discovery podcast - New Christian Releases, Hidden Gems and Tomorrow's Christian Hits - September 28th, 2020


We have released a new episode of our Christian Music Discovery podcast, where we predict tomorrow's Christian Hits and share newly released musical gems by lesser-known artists.

During each episode, we try to predict tomorrow's Christian Hits and share newly released musical gems by lesser-known artists (artists that have not (yet) experienced a major breakthrough). 

For our predictions, we look at Christian music released last Friday and talk about how these songs developed in the first 36 hours since their release. We highlight songs that we believe will be the high performers during the coming week. A week later, we release the Top 25 chart of Christian songs released in the past week (200 hours) and look at our predictions. During these episodes, we also feature songs by (less known) artists that we believe deserve more "love".

"Hard Times" by Matt Rees: Finding Faithful Ground When Life Comes Apart

Hard times have a way of stripping everything back. Matt Rees knows this well — and "Hard Times" was came out of one of those seasons. The Michigan-based singer-songwriter has spent years writing music that builds up the church and glorifies God, and this song carries that same honest, unpolished faith. What makes it remarkable is the posture Rees takes. Rather than crying out from the pain, he's thanking God for it. "I thank You for the hard times // when You test what's in the depths of my heart." "Vine" by Oludee: Fruitfulness Through Surrender

(by Jasper Tan) "Vine" by Oludee is a very beautiful, soulful song that talks about trust, surrender, and putting our Faith in God. What makes this song so beautiful is the musical choice that Oludee chose to produce with the given theme. It's easy listening and soulful, which can be a good song to listen to during our moments of devotion and personal worship with God. The opening lines of the song quickly establish the message that we can't just rely on ourselves in our day-to-day living, but it is important that we learn to recognize God in our lives.
