Rorie - Resonate (CCM)

Rorie - Resonate

Rorie has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Resonate.

Rorie wrote "Resonate" alone in her living room during the turbulence of the year 2020, which ended with her and her husband going through a heartbreaking miscarriage. “Resonate” is a worship song filled with the hope of the Gospel, conveying the way that the good news resonates both through sound waves and inside hearts. Rorie writes: "In a year filled with so much heartache, both globally and personally, I felt strongly compelled to sing about the reason behind the hope that I have. It’s not because of anything I’ve done or will do, or because of what I can see here in the temporary, but because of who Jesus is and all that He has done. It changes everything!""

Resonate” was produced by Nashville-based 2x Grammy-nominated and multiple Dove award-winning producer Jordan Sapp (Jeremy Camp, Tauren Wells, Riley Clemmons).

The single will be followed by an EP, which is set to release on September 10, 2021.

Lyrics

On my own I had no faith, no place to rest
Just a complicated past, and a goal to do my best
Even when I tried the world kept crashing down
Til You led me from sinking sand to solid ground
Let hope rise in this place
And Hallelujahs resonate
Death has no power in Your name
Jesus, the one who saves
You are the one who saves
(Ohh)

We could not repair the damage that was made
Your holiness so powerful, our brokenness so great
Even then redemption entered on the scene
A story being written to set captives free
Let hope rise in this place
And Hallelujahs resonate
Death has no power in Your name
Jesus, the one who saves
You are the one who saves

Hallelujah, let it resonate
Hallelujah, let it resonate
Hallelujah, let it resonate
Hallelujah, let it resonate

What shame declared as hopeless
Your promise overcame
You bore it on the cross, standing in my place
And in the quiet hour the grave could not contain
Your resurrection power
All glory to Your name
Hallelujah, let it resonate
Let hope rise in this place
And Hallelujahs resonate
Death has no power in Your name
Jesus, the one who saves

Let hope rise in this place
And Hallelujahs resonate
Death has no power in Your name
Jesus, the one who saves
You are the one who saves
(Ohh)

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Oceans (Hillsong Cover)" by Tiffany Ford - Stepping into the Unknown with Faith

Life can at times feel like a stormy sea! Do you recognize that feeling? Tiffany Ford does, and Oceans by Hillsong is one of her 'go-to' songs for those rough times in life. She released a beautiful cover of Oceans, and shared how faith became her anchor when her life seemed so overwhelming. "Seemed" is the key word here, because in her moments of doubt and fear she discovered that God was meeting her exactly where she stood — by her side as she stood on shaky ground or in deep waters.  Oceans is a favorite for many readers, a song that describes the tension we feel between trust and uncertainty: "You call me out upon the waters / The great unknown where feet may fail." It's a beautiful invitation to step out of your comfort zone, even when it feels quite risky. With this cover, Tiffany is reminding us (and herself) that He is there when we get of our comfort zone. We can count on Him being there to guide us —  "Your sovereign hand will be my guide...
