Stand in the Gap by The James Jennings Project: Bridging the Divide with Compassion

The James Jennings Project hits home with their latest track, 'Stand in the Gap'. The song is a call to action that reminds us of the power of compassion and justice in a world torn between what James Jennings is calling the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'. It's a song that both entertains and deserves a close listen to the lyrics. Lyrics that spark a change in the heart.

The James Jennings Project - Stand In The GapJames draws from personal experiences, living the life of both a 'have' and a 'have-not', with a narrative that sounds all too familiar. Through lyrics like 'There once was a world, sorely divided / Between those who had and had not decided,' you're invited to also look at your own life, asking yourself how you relate to those who might be struggling.

'Stand in the Gap' isn't just an observation, it's more of a plea, a call-to-action. 'So tell me then, who will stand in the gap / Tell me, who will struggle to bring the Nots back?' That's easy - it's you, me, and us. It's our call to action to take action and make a difference. How? By extending the blessings we have received to the people around us, we reflect God's endless love through what we do.

Do you ever wonder if one person can really make a difference? This song might help you figure it out. Please take a moment to listen to 'Stand in the Gap.' The God of the 'haves' is also the God of the 'have-nots,' and He encourages us to remember, act, and stand in the gap.

Skillet - Valley of Death (CCM)

Skillet has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Valley of Death. The global health crisis of the last two years has led to numerous questions regarding why bad things happen to good people. Skillet's John Cooper explains why he believes God allowed the pandemic to happen. Skillet has released their new album Dominion through Atlantic Records last Friday (Jan. 14). A discussion with 'Loudwire Nights' host Toni Gonzalez brought up the track "Valley of Death," which contains the lyrics: "Someone said this is all part of the plan / But I don't understand." Gonzalez then asked him why he thinks God would allow a pandemic. This is what Cooper said: "Well, the first answer is that we're not good people. We're all fallen and we are all in desperate need of salvation through Jesus. So, we're not actually good people, we all do bad stuff. We all cheat, we've all lied, we're all greedy and as much as the most lov...

"In the Room" by Matt Maher feat. Chris Brown: A Heartfelt Desire for Divine Presence

Matt Maher's collaboration with Chris Brown, 'In the Room,' is a soul-stirring Christian song that encapsulates the profound longing to witness transformative moments in the presence of God. The lyrics express the desire to be present when God's power touches broken hearts, ignites faith, and brings healing. The song's verses convey a yearning for those irreplaceable instances when heaven and earth intersect, leading to changed hearts and restored lives. The chorus's declaration, ' I just wanna be in the room when You move,' beautifully encapsulates the eagerness to witness God's miraculous work up close. The bridge's vivid imagery of tearing off the roof and pushing through the crowd reflects the determination to encounter God, no matter the obstacles. The repetition of the bridge emphasizes the earnest plea to witness God's breakthroughs and freedom. 'In the Room' is an invitation to be part of moments that are greater than oneself...

"Sunlight (Storge)" by Chelsea Chaisson: Reminisce the Simpler Times

(by Jasper Tan) Feel good, light-hearted, easy listening track. That's how I find Chelsea Chaisson's new single called "Sunlight (Storge)." I was kind of curious what the word "Storge" means, so I had to look it up. According to Wikipedia, "Storge is a Greek word that refers to natural, familial affection or love, particularly the bond between parents and children, as well as among family members and close friends. It is characterized by familiarity, dependence, and loyalty, often rooted in kinship bonds and shared experiences." Sounds very familiar? Of course, it should be, because as per the description, it actually describes what Christian love is. Or should I say how God loves us as His children? Chelsea was inspired to write this song by reminiscing about her childhood, marked by simpler times spent with her cousins and their grandma.  Countless times, we always heard the saying that we all should have faith like a child. The reason for that i...
