"Where Would I Be" by Presence Music Band: From Broken to Free


Grace, freedom, and transformation… these are the main themes in the song "Where Would I Be" by Presence Music Band. The jazzy, ska-influenced sound makes the song fun to listen to, and the lyrics go deep. This song reflects on who we were and who we may become thanks to Him.

It compares parts of us with Adam and Eve, believing the lies. And with Cain, hurt, filled with hate, and wandering, and how we are being held captive by sin. With God we have the assurance that there is always a turning point within our reach: "'Til you drew me in all over again." 

Our hearts fill with gratitude when we realize, "Where would I be if it wasn't for mercy // Where would I be if it wasn't for grace." The song reminds us of the cross and the high cost that He paid for you and me. He makes it possible for us to sing, "The new me is lookin more like Jesus." 

The second part of the song looks at how Paul left behind old ways and reminds us that God is helping us every day to live more abundantly. "Far be it from me not to believe / It ain't lost on me how you set me free." 

Infectious, honest, and full of joy, this song encourages you to reflect on your own story while celebrating His love in your life. May you too accept Him in your life and through His life-changing grace see… "Left the old me in the rearview // It ain't lost on me how you set me free"

"Man I Used To Be" by Dax: Half the Weight, Double the Faith

"Man I Used To Be" by Dax is a very personal song. Dax had promised himself that he wouldn't release new music until he'd stayed sober for six months, the time he needed to get his priorities straight and clear his mind. "Man I Used To Be" is the sound of his first clean breath, life with God by his side. Dax lays it bare: "Trials and tribulations, all my past trauma," he acknowledges, along with "generational curses from daddy and mama," and the "addictions that clouded my eyes." "Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame.
