"Hallelujah Anyway" by Zach Garrett: Praise That Doesn't Wait for the Storm to Pass

What if worship doesn’t require having answers? Storm clouds hide the stars. The road stretches on with no map and no end in sight. That’s the world Zach Garrett describes in the opening lines of “Hallelujah Anyway,” and if you’ve walked through a season of loss or confusion, you already recognize the setting. Zach wrote this song from inside real darkness, in his case, a stretch of loss, hurt, and unanswered questions that didn’t resolve on his timeline. Zach’s message is that we don’t need to wait for clarity before we choose to worship. Like Zach, we may need to make that choice daily, sometimes hourly, possibly even through gritted teeth. Who carries your worries when they feel too heavy? Arizona worship leader Madison Earl wrote “Consider the Lilies” for anyone who has lain awake worrying about tomorrow’s problems. It is the third of four original songs she plans to release in 2026. The message for this song is inspired by Matthew 6:26–34. Madison’s hope is that listeners remember that “they don’t have to carry everything on their own.” The chorus asks the questions we all ask. “What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” Your questions may also be about an increase in rent, unpaid bills, test results, a difficult boss, a wayward child, and more… all of those questions fit.
