Shirley Melger - Welcome into This Place (CCM)

Shirley Melger's song 'Welcome into This Place' is a beautiful and uplifting gospel song that is sure to inspire anyone who listens to it. The song was originally performed in 2008 in the Bijlmerbajes prison in Amsterdam, with Shirley being accompanied on the piano by Ruben Drenthe. Several years later, the song was recorded in a spontaneous and improvised session, with some of the lyrics being left out. Shirley interpreted the song as an invitation to God to come and heal us, to be with us even when we are broken and to offer up our praises to Him.

The lyrics of the song are simple yet powerful, with the opening lines 'Welcome into this broken vessel, you desire to abide in the praises of your people' setting the tone for the entire song. The song is an invitation to the Holy Spirit to come and be with us, to dwell in our hearts and to fill us with His love and grace. The chorus repeats this invitation, with the words 'Welcome into this place, welcome into this broken vessel, you desire to abide in the praises of your people'.

Shirley Melger - Welcome into This PlaceThe song also includes a prayer, in which Shirley thanks God for His love and for being with us in our brokenness. She asks God to help us seek His love and to see His holiness. The song ends with a heartfelt thanks to God, with Shirley repeating the chorus and adding the words 'Father, sweet Jesus, holy Spirit, loving and mighty and precious name'.

'Welcome into This Place' is a beautiful and inspiring song that is sure to touch the hearts of anyone who listens to it. Shirley's voice is full of passion and conviction, and the simple yet powerful lyrics are a reminder of God's love and grace, even in our brokenness. The song is a call to all of us to invite God into our lives, to open our hearts to Him and to offer up our praises to His name. I would highly encourage anyone who loves gospel music or who is looking for a message of hope and inspiration to listen to this beautiful song.

'Fighting With My Demons' by Joe Nester: Encapsulating the Resilient Battle of Faith

Fighting With My Demons' by Joe Nester is a powerful Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) song that confronts a universal and challenging issue — the battle with inner demons. Nestled within the soothing melody and catchy rhythm are impactful lyrics conveying despair, struggle, and ultimate redemption. As the song begins, 'All my life, I’ve been battling with my demons,' listeners are instantly embraced with understanding, compassion, and know they are not alone in their struggles. The profound lyrics echo the pain of life's battles and the weariness they create, yet they’re also filled with hope. We are reminded that even while we are lost and conflicted, God's presence becomes our refuge. As we heed the voice of Nester, immersed in sincerity and conviction, the lyrics resonate, 'So fill me with your fire. Until I feel it burning bright and all the darkness turns to light.' It is a plaintive cry for God's sanctifying fire — His divine intervention to ov...

Are you a Christian music artist? Do you want to build a larger audience for your music? In this 5 part series, we will explain our music marketing strategy for exponentially expanding your fanbase. Today, in part 1, we focus on the foundation needed to build a larger audience/fanbase, where to focus, and your place in a bigger picture. Next week, in part 2, we will focus on your online hub, ways to attract more visitors to your online hub, and being more than a musician.   Why do some Christian artists have millions of monthly streams on the streaming platforms, while other great artists struggle to get more than a few thousand monthly streams? Many Christian Artists struggle to reach new listeners. Marketing music was never easy, but quite a few artists (and even agents/distributors) are not using all of the possibilities that are already available. What saddens me is that many Christian artists only scratch the surface of their music marketing possibilities. DIY-platforms, such...

Josephine Grace - Higher Than the Heavens (CCM)

Josephine Grace has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Higher Than the Heavens. Josephine shared her story behind this song:  Some songs come quickly, some come slowly. This one was definitely the latter! It was way back in 2011 when I made a home demo of the first version of this song - it was moodier with completely different chords, melody and lyrics - and then it sat on the shelf (or more literally, on an external hard drive full of archived files) until the back end of last year. I’ve done some studying online with Hillsong College this past year and a half and at some point I’d explored what being wholehearted towards God means. Bits of the old song (it was called ‘I Will’ at that point), written quite directly from Psalm 108, started coming back to me beginning with Psalm 108:1 (NIV) “My heart, O God, is steadfast”.  I followed the melody in my mind to the chorus based on Psalm 108:4 (NIV) “For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your fa...
