"Great is Your Faithfulness" by DJ Sm1th: An Old Hymn in a New CEDM-style Variation

DJ Sm1th does it again, this time refitting the beloved old hymn "Great is Your Faithfulness" into a modern energetic track. DJ Sm1th was inspired to reimagine this hymn after realizing how deep and impactful the lyrics are, and knowing how the traditional genre can often fail to connect with the younger Christian generations. He modernized the sound and mixed it with a strong beat, creating a sound that today's generation enjoys (and he knows that the college men's group he mentors already loves it).

DJ Sm1th - Great is Your FaithfulnessThe main message of the original hymn is still the same: it celebrates God's constant faithfulness, His ever-present mercy, and His endless support for us. "Great is Your faithfulness O God my Father // There is no shadow of turning with You. // You never falter Your love never wavers // Faithful and constant in all that You do."

The song's lines, "Morning by morning Your mercies I see" and "All I have needed Your hand has provided," remind us that God is always present in our lives. "Seasons may change but Your love stands unshaken" and "You're the same God through all generations // Forever faithful forever my guide," lines that acknowledge the unchanging nature of God's love across all generations.

May this modern variation on the classic hymn touch your heart with the timeless message that His love is also there for you. He is standing at the door of your life and waiting for you to invite Him in.

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Man I Used To Be" by Dax: Half the Weight, Double the Faith

"Man I Used To Be" by Dax is a very personal song. Dax had promised himself that he wouldn't release new music until he'd stayed sober for six months, the time he needed to get his priorities straight and clear his mind. "Man I Used To Be" is the sound of his first clean breath, life with God by his side. Dax lays it bare: "Trials and tribulations, all my past trauma," he acknowledges, along with "generational curses from daddy and mama," and the "addictions that clouded my eyes." The honesty about his past struggles makes the message of this song so relatable and powerful.  The chorus is about the moment that the script was flipped, "I'm half the man I used to be." Not a broken man, but a man who has been freed from the burdens that weren't his to carry and kept him from God. "I don't ever chase, I got God," declaring that his new identity is anchored in faith. It's a shrug and a testimo...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
