Choosing Jesus isn’t a one-time decision.
Running can feel so much safer than staying, especially when the road ahead looks dark. Marisel knew that dark road ahead quite well. “I Choose You” by Marisel started as one of her earliest originals, and years later she brought it back to life with a fresh arrangement, because the message itself never got old: “trust God’s love and choose Him daily, no matter the season of life”. The lyrics open with an honest confession — “All I knew was to run from you” — pain had built walls that were too thick to climb. Does it sound familiar? Maybe you’ve done (or are still doing) the same thing, dodging God instead of running to Him.
The chorus is a turning point. Marisel sings “Guide me to the light // I know there will be pain these nights // But I will be alright // Your joy will come with the sweet sunrise.” This isn’t a denial of pain, but a decision made in spite of the pain to trust God.
We can read about similar crossroads that Joshua faced with Israel, and his words still echo: “Choose this day whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). Choosing isn’t a feeling that you’re waiting for. It’s a decision you make, then remake tomorrow. Some mornings will hand you doubt, wounds, and pain that “cries out.” The message is: Choose anyway! Your circumstances don’t get the final vote on your allegiance.
Look at the day ahead and pick one thing that you’ve been avoiding — a conversation, a habit, a truth — and choose to face it together with God instead of running. That’s how you can apply faith to your daily life.
Press play on “I Choose You” today. May the chorus remind you of what’s coming. “Your joy will come with the sweet sunrise.”

Background:
"I Choose You" is a renewed version of one of my first original songs, a declaration to choose Jesus above all else. Featuring Justin Armani, this fresh arrangement breathes new life into the message while staying true to its heart. My prayer is that it reminds listeners to trust God's love and choose Him daily, no matter the season of life.
