"I Still Believe" by ZOEgirl: God’s Word Stands When Waves Rise

God’s Word still stands when everything changes.

Remember when faith felt simple? ZOEgirl does. In “I Still Believe,” they sing about trusting God as a child and seeing the world “in simple ways.” A message that applies even when doubts roll in, “more than a few,” hitting “like waves.”

ZOEgirl - I Still BelieveThe song circles back to the group’s first single, “I Believe.” Years later, with so many people walking away from faith, ZOEgirl wants to let you know that the Bible can be trusted. It’s still His Word.

Have you ever prayed in whispers, then shouted God’s name, and still felt like you were running in circles? Well, you’re in good company! King David also knew that feeling. He asked, “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?” Then he answered himself in Psalm 139:12: “even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.”

The song’s bridge echoes King David’s message: “The dark is light to You.” Your doubts don’t surprise God, and your questions don’t scare Him away. He searches, and He finds you, even on a twisted road you can’t unbend.
So bring God all of your questions. Open your Bible this week, even if it is dusty and feels dry, and read one psalm out loud. Tell God exactly where you are. Then look at what hasn’t moved… His goodness, His character, His Word.

Give “I Still Believe” by ZOEgirl a listen and let it sing your faith back to you whenever your own words run thin. Lord, “I still believe in You.”

(Related scripture: Psalm 139:12; Isaiah 40:8; Hebrews 13:8)

Background:

Hey, this is ZOEgirl, and we want to tell you about our brand new song called "I Still Believe." We are harkening back to our first single, which was called "I Believe." In a culture in which so many people are walking away from the Lord and from faith, we just wanted to give a message to everybody out there that the Bible can be trusted. It's still His Word, and we're still confident in it and the claims of Jesus and Christianity. We're just here to say we still believe.

“I Believe” by Reagan Nichole: A Ten-Year-Old’s Bold Declaration of Faith

What if darkness can’t stay where Jesus lives? Eleven-year-old Reagan Nichole from Texas wrote “I Believe” right after she turned ten. Most of us wait decades before saying what we believe out loud. She sings it! Her opening lines name a fear many people quietly carry with them: “You think that you’ve gone way too far, that there’s no way to turn back.” Have you ever felt that? Reagan reminds us of a promise. Jesus “will wash you clean.” No résumé required. No catching up. She calls the song her personal declaration that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Her faith isn’t a Sunday event. It lives in everyday life and turns dark to light. She sings: “I know He makes the darkness flee.” Jesus said the same thing long before any songwriter did. In John 8:12 He tells us, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Notice the verb, “…follow …” . His light isn’t something you earn. You walk in it, one step at a time, right in t...

"Thank God I’m Saved" by Chad Chaney: A Joyful Anthem for Life’s Valleys

Is the valley you’re in really permanent? Chad Chaney spent years as an actor in Hollywood, building his own kingdom. Then God called him to build a different one. In a quiet moment, one line landed: “Even when I’m in the valley, I won’t stay for long.” He wrote an entire song around it, “Thank God I’m Saved”. You may know that valley. Loneliness. Worry about next year. A voice that whispers that you’re worthless. Chad names those feelings in his lyrics: “Even when I’m feeling broken, You will make me whole.” He never pretends the valley isn’t real. He just refuses to unpack his bags there. Scripture sounds the same note. “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning” (Psalm 30:5). David wrote those words after God lifted him out of a dark season. The night was real. So was the morning, and David turned that into a song. What are you carrying around today that is blocking your joy? Hand it over to God. Chad says that God has brought him and his family out of seemi...

"I Will Rejoice" by Maria Segerholm: Thankful for the Sunshine and the Rain

Joy is a choice you can make today. “I Will Rejoice” by Maria Segerholm is a song of joy and praise, and her message is that joy is a choice despite the challenges we face. Maria has been called a happy person since she was a little girl. The unexpected happened, the trials came. Seasons arrived when her joy faded, and she says the enemy worked hard to steal her joy. Does that sound familiar? Those seasons didn’t last. Over the past few years, God has taught Maria what it means to rejoice in Him at all times, and this song, “I Will Rejoice”, grew from that lesson. Listen to how she sings it. Clouds try to block her light, yet she won’t stay down. Pain tries to break her praise, so she sings His Name. Fear shakes her soul, and she gives thanks “cause I know You’re good.” Notice the words that Maria uses: Clouds, pain, fear, and noise… They all “try,” but none of them win. Joy here is a choice that she makes again and again, long before her feelings catch up. The bridge pushes further....
