Lauren Daigle's Secret To Choruses That Grab!

Choruses That Grab Attention by Kapa Freeman Do you want to start your choruses with a bang? Grab their attention at the start? Just like Lauren Daigle.   Lauren Daigle made Billboard history with her song "You Say." It was at the top of the Hot Christian Charts for a record 100 weeks. Part of what makes the song work so well is how the chorus starts. She starts by repeating the same note and rhythm. That's it. No, seriously...that's the whole technique. "You say I am loved..." "You," "Say" and "I" are all the exact same note and the exact same length. This technique is used in lots of other #1 Songs, in different styles of music, and different time periods. Sometimes it's a repetition of the note, but the rhythm changes. Sometimes it's a repetition of the rhythm, but the melody changes. But one thing is certain... Back to back repetition at the beginning of a chorus is a great way to make a song people love. Songs like

Xandria Cross - Take Your Medicine (CHH)

Xandria Cross has released her latest Christian Hip Hop (CHH) track called Take Your Medicine. Xandria is a 19-year-old from Knoxville, Tennessee. She has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. She graduated early from high school at the age of 16, in order to pursue a career as a full-time artist. Xandria says, “Music transcends languages. It’s timeless, it’s emotion, it’s pain and joy and love. It’s so special, and to be able to bring a new song into the world, that is totally unique and unlike anything else, inspires me. Music is a coping mechanism for so many, and I just want to be able to use my music to spread healthy, uplifting, encouraging messages. If I can’t be with people, to help and talk with them in person, it’s my hope that my music can lift them up in my absence. In 2020 & 2021, Xandria embarked on a 20 city, 7000-mile national tour with the Extreme Tour. In 2019, Xandria was invited to perform at the Thunder Tent stage at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. T

Danny Gokey - Make A Difference - Radio Version (CCM)

Danny Gokey has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Make A Difference - Radio Version. LYRICS: With open eyes I’m walking to the light Cause I’ve been sleeping way too long This blurry vision had me living blind Show me what’s really going on   The world is in need right now It’s time to let love be loud We gotta be what we preach about   We can make a difference We can do our talking with our hands and feet  Love is on a mission Let the difference start with you and me   Finding what’s broke so we can build it up Healing the ones that have been hurt Even a little just might be enough But first we’ve got to get to work   The world is in need right now It’s time to let love reach out And let them know what we’re all about   If you change a heart, you can change the world Gotta take a step or we’ll never know What are we waiting for? We can make a difference   Let’s get to work Let’s get to work All the people say Ooh, Ooh   Let’s get to work Let’s get to work Let’

Switchfoot - beloved (CCM)

Switchfoot has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called 'beloved'. We also have the lyrics for this song: Lyrics Maybe all the world is insecure Maybe all of us are looking for a cure Maybe something that can finally reassure, maybe We’re chasing after money like a dog But the money’s never gonna be enough No, it’s never gonna take the place of love, maybe I’m still looking for the truth But I can’t seem to find it in the news Maybe I’ll start singing like the blues, maybe The days start feeling like the nights Like it’s just another way to lose a fight Like I’m the only one who’s looking for the light, maybe If only I could open up my eyes Would the truth be what would set me free? If only I could open up my eyes Would I see that maybe I need you Like you need me? And the new year dawns And the old year’s drifting on and on Like my doubt’s in orbit ’round the sun Everyday begins to feel the same Like I’m waiting on [?] to go and change But there’s no one but
