What do you do when the ground won’t hold? The track “Lift Your Voice” by Rick Rath was born while standing at an overlook in Oberwesel, a small town on the Rhine River in Germany. Rick wanted to capture the same feeling he gets from the old hymn “All Creatures of Our God and King” , with that swelling and “can’t-help-but-sing” sense of praise.  The song opens honestly: “When the ground beneath me doesn’t hold, when the truth feels harder than I’m told.” That’s not a small admission. Most of us will know how it feels to walk with “a restless heart, looking for a spark in the dark.” Rick doesn’t stay there. He directs our focus upward: “Hands up to the open sky, we were born to reach higher.” That line summarizes the key takeaway of the song.
