Charity Rouse - Love is Always Stronger (Extended)
Charity Rouse has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Love is Always Stronger (Extended).

Charity shares: "I went to a songwriting retreat with Sara Groves and she was telling the story of the cellist of Sarajevo, Vedran Smailovic. He was a cellist for the symphony and during the Bosnian war, some say, his act of peaceful protest hastened the end of the war. Across from his apartment, a bomb went off and killed a group of people waiting in line for bread. As a result, he took his cello, dressed in a tuxedo, and went to different bombsights playing Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. It is this very Adagio that inspired my song and is the start of the song's extended version. Matt Nelson, the co-creator of the music for The Chosen series, is playing the cello.

Music is a beautiful thing that God uses to cause our hearts to focus on the beautiful. Whether it's Paul in prison or the cellist of Sarajevo."

Lyrics:

There in a crater of death and dark ruin
He pulled out his cello and sang a tune
This was all that he could do,
To bring beauty from ashes and hope to renew
Like a flower in winter
Joyously defiant against the dark and quiet
The smallest bird still sings in rain
And I will cling to faith
That love is always stronger, love is always stronger, love is always stronger than fear
Thrown into jail for no crime he had done
He sang out a song at the top of his lungs
For all to hear in the dark and despair
That God still sees oh and God is still here
Like a flower in winter
Joyously defiant against the dark and quiet
The smallest bird still sings in rain
And I will cling to faith
That love is always stronger, love is always stronger, love is always stronger than fear
The love that says, 'yes', to sacrifice
The love that lays down it's life
The love that shows up in the deepest of hells
This is the love that sings, 'it is well.'
Like a flower in winter
Joyously defiant against the dark and quiet
The smallest bird still sings in rain
And I will cling to faith
That love is always stronger, love is always stronger, love is always stronger than fear
