Cynthia Lok - Bitter Into Sweet (CCM)

Cynthia Lok - Bitter Into Sweet
Cynthia Lok has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called 'Bitter Into Sweet'.

This is an inner healing song from the perspective of God singing over you. It is based on Cynthia's Facebook posts about bitterness from 2020. Cynthia brought the series to a close with a home recording of the song. When you compare this first recording to the final recording, you get a unique insight into the creative process, as you can see how a song evolved from the first version to the final release. As an introduction to this lovely song, I'd like to share one of Cynthia's posts about bitterness.

In September 2020, Cynthia wrote: 'Recently in the last several months in context with finding healing, I realized that there was bitterness in my heart. I noticed that I would respond in anger and that I carried offence in my heart related to events that happened way in the past. I noticed that sharp, negative and destructive words would come out of my mouth, I noticed that there was no joy in my countenance, I noticed that there was a lot of complaining coming out of my mouth, I noticed that I couldn’t celebrate with others when they were being promoted or having breakthrough.
What causes people to become bitter? It is a choice on how you respond to life’s setbacks. Many people can become bitter because they experience rejection, abandonment, disappointment in the family, abuse, betrayal, miscarriage and it can be a generational curse. Bitterness develops when there is a deep grief, a loss and lack of something.
Bitterness can grow. It starts when we are hurt in someway, or setback in someway. And this setback causes us to be angry an instead of dealing with the anger you let it dwell. Then it becomes an offence – we develop a wall in the heart from stopping the hurt anymore. Then you become resentful about the injustice, how unfair it is and how about something should be done about it.
I believe God is taking us all through a journey of turning the bitter into sweet.'

About Cynthia's motivation to record her songs:

The reason why I choose to record my songs is that my Pastor put it in my heart in 2009. At the time, I was really doubting the call to write songs for God, I didn’t think I was good enough or skilled enough. I was asking God to show me a sign of His favor that I was supposed to continue writing songs. Then I sang this song at church and my Pastor told me that there was an anointing on that song and while she was praying for me, she said that God put it in her heart to tell me to record that song professionally in a recording studio.

Brandon Lake - Praise You Anywhere (CCM)

'Praise You Anywhere' by Brandon Lake is a powerful anthem that encourages us to turn to praise in every season of life. No matter the circumstances we face, choosing to praise God will shift our perspective and ignite faith within us. The lyrics of the song remind us that in the midst of darkness, fire, and challenges, we can dance, sing, and praise God. We are called to worship even when it doesn't make sense and to boldly face the giants that stand before us. The song emphasizes the power of praising God in the highest, acknowledging His worthiness of all our praise. Brandon Lake's heartfelt message resonates with the reality that there are times when we find ourselves in prisons and battles. Sarah Kroger, Nathan Jess - Belovedness - Live (CCM)

Are you tired of feeling inadequate and alone in your struggles? Have a look at Sarah Kroger's 'Belovedness,' a powerful ballad that reminds us of our worth as children of God. Initially released on Kroger's sophomore album, 'Light,' during the peak of a global healthcare crisis, 'Belovedness' quickly found a following among those battling mental health challenges. The revisited live version, recorded in a barn-turned-studio in the UK countryside, offers a sweet, intimate take on the song, featuring Northern Irish singer-songwriter Nathan Jess on vocals. Kroger wrote the song during a period of personal growth, as she discovered the truth of her identity through reading Henri Nouwen's 'Life of The Beloved.' The lyrics remind us to let go of our past mistakes and the lies we've been told, and to embrace the truth of our belovedness. This song is not only for the Christian community, it is also for anyone struggling with their identity, loo
