Spencer Parsons - Psalm 1 (The Lord Knows the Way of the Righteous) (CHH)

Spencer Parsons - Psalm 1 (The Lord Knows the Way of the Righteous)
Spencer Parsons has released a Christian Hip Hop (CHH) track called 'Psalm 1 (The Lord Knows the Way of the Righteous)'.

Spencer writes: "The release of this Psalm is timely to me, I am encouraged by remembering that whether I am facing an ever-corrupting society and government around me, or even just doing the right thing when nobody sees, the Lord knows the way of the righteous... and the way of the wicked will perish. I hope you are encouraged by this track and it helps you to hide His Word in your hearts!"

Lyrics

[Hook]
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked man shall perish;
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
Oh yeah, Oh yeah…
[Verse]
Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also will not wither; and whatever he does will prosper.
The wicked are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the wicked shall perish.
[Hook]
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked man shall perish;
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
Oh yeah, Oh yeah…

"Heartbeat" by Laura Leighe - Dancing in Worship

Here's a song that's more or less been stuck in my head since I heard it. It's called 'Heartbeat' by Laura Leighe and is what Laura calls a "reggaeton-influenced Christian pop duet" that's all about surrendering to God's rhythm and dancing in worship, no matter what life throws your way.  The lyrics remind me of two scriptures: "Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe."  - Psalm 150:4 (NIV) and "Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might."  - 2 Samuel 6:14 (NIV). Maybe I'm a bit prejudiced because the song reminds us of our own thoughts when we founded "Christian Dance" years ago and picked a name. Focusing on music that allows us to feel joy and causes us (our hearts) to dance for God, a pure form of worship that we know is pleasing to God. The lyrics are about surrendering our control and trusting in God's plan. Laura sings, "I bet you f...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

'Whatever It Takes – Acoustic' by Stephen Stanley: Embracing Divine Grace Amid Trial

Stephen Stanley vividly portrays the profound journey of faith in his moving acoustic rendition of the song 'Whatever It Takes'. His sincerity echoes the difficulties of completely surrendering one's heart to God despite being burdened by past mistakes and self-doubt. However, as we all know, the journey to the divine, while difficult, ultimately changes everything. 'Whatever it Takes,' a testament to Stanley's commitment, is a vocal affirmation to live continuously for God. The lyrics touch listeners' hearts as he admits, 'I've been reckless with my heart / Now I'm falling apart'; a message that many can relate to. This bold declaration is followed by a powerful surrender: 'I don't wanna be the same / I need You to be the change / I surrender all I am.' Stanley's song reaches out to everyone who has struggled with their shortcomings and leads them to the comforting presence of God. Self-doubt and the fear of falling may plagu...
