Long Hollow Worship - The Wonder (CCM)

As a Christian music lover, I am always on the lookout for songs that will truly resonate with my soul. And I have to say, Long Hollow Worship's 'The Wonder' is definitely one of those songs.

The lyrics of 'The Wonder' speak of the amazing love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was fully God and fully man. He left His throne in heaven to rescue us, and His victory over death means that we too can have victory over death.

The song begins with the lyrics 'Beyond what I can understand, Fully God and fully man.' These words immediately capture the awe and wonder of the incarnation, the fact that the infinite God took on finite human flesh to save us.

The chorus of 'The Wonder' repeats the phrase 'Oh, the wonder of it all' three times, emphasizing the sheer magnitude of what Christ did for us. The bridge continues this theme, proclaiming that 'It's the wonder of Your glory, Of how much You love us, It's the wonder of Your goodness and Your kindness.'

Long Hollow Worship - The WonderBut the song doesn't just focus on the abstract wonder of God's love. It also acknowledges our own sinfulness and the fact that we are the ones in need of rescue. The lyrics of the second verse declare that 'If You would leave the ninety-nine, And I'm the one You came to find,' highlighting the fact that Christ's sacrifice was not just a general act of love, but a specific act of love for each and every one of us.

The final verse of the song celebrates the victory of Christ over sin and death, proclaiming that 'Hope was lost until day three, When You arose in victory, oh, You have shattered sin's decree, The death of death is life for me.' These words are a reminder that the resurrection of Christ is not just a nice story, but a historical reality that changes everything.

I encourage you to listen to 'The Wonder' by Long Hollow Worship and let its message of awe and wonder sink deep into your heart. Let it remind you of the incredible love of Jesus Christ, who left His throne in heaven to rescue you and me. I pray that this song will inspire you to live a life of wonder and gratitude, always remembering the incredible price that was paid for our redemption.

"Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" by Stephen M. Miller: Holding On to Grace at Heaven’s Door

Stephen M. Miller's "Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" comes in the quiet aftermath of the Christmas celebrations, when reflection can feel like isolation. Stephen's song isn't about polishing away his mistakes, nor does it encourage you to do so with your mistakes. Stephen shares his painful experience, "I never saw it coming Lord // It felt right but it was wrong // Family and friends have left me // But I still have you and a song."   Stephen owns the fallout of his actions, taking accountability without despair. "I said it and I did it, Lord // Broke more hearts than I'll ever know // I can't fix this, though I've tried // Don't be angry, and please don't go." His song is a prayer for God's presence and guidance. "Hear me when I call you, Lord // Don't turn your face away // Don't give up on me like others have // Come help me through this day." Stephen describes a fear that we too experience when we ...

"Forever" by Randy Wade: The God Who Has Always Been

The King who reigns forever also reigns over you. Before a single star burned in the sky, before the first mountain rose from the earth, God was. Worship Pastor and Contemporary Christian songwriter Rev. Randy Wade captures this in his song “Forever”, a song built on the unshakeable and eternal nature of God. “Before the mountains were lifted high, before the stars gave light to the sky, You O Lord have always been, the One with no beginning and no end.”   Randy wrote “Forever” to point our hearts toward Christ. The song pulls your gaze off the noise of daily life and fixes it on the One who exists outside of time. We have a God who doesn’t react to circumstances, but One who reigns above them. Revelation 1:8 declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” This scripture isn’t just a declaration; it can also be read as a personal promise. It is the same God who holds eternity in His hands who also holds your uncerta...

"Born Again" by PeterLs: One Decision, One Lifetime of Walking With Jesus

Some choices mark the beginning of an entirely different life.   In a small Polish town called Podkowa Leśna, a choice was made that PeterLs has never stopped celebrating. Twenty-two years ago, he stepped into the waters of baptism and came out a different person. “Born Again” is his testimony — honest, grateful, and filled with the kind of faith that continues to grow. “Twenty-two years ago, I chose the life, to follow Jesus, day and night.” This isn’t a song that celebrates that specific moment twenty-two years ago; it’s a celebration of every moment since then!  The song has an interesting detail that is worth pointing out. The total duration of the song is 3:16, which in turn is a deliberate nod to John 3:16. This is the scripture where Jesus told a Pharisee named Nicodemus, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Eternal life isn’t something you can earn. It’s something you recei...
