'Jesus Name' by Seek and Surrender: Embracing the Promise in Prayer


'Jesus Name' by Seek and Surrender is about how powerful it is to speak the name of Jesus. Many Christians will say, 'yes, I know that', but the truth of the matter is that speaking His name is a faith-driven force that is often overlooked as we go through our day-to-day activities. 

Seek and Surrender - Jesus NameThis song gently reminds us that the truth of Jesus can overpower any lie we face, and reassures us of the freedom we find in Him. It's like having a conversation with your heart and reminding it of hope. 

But there is more to this song. It expands on the promises that Jesus made about faith - especially the faith that can move mountains. I have to admit that I have doubts whether my faith can move mountains… I know I still have a way to grow in that. Thankfully, we don't need to to have mastered that level of faith before we see the effects of speaking His name. 

Part of the lyrics refer to the passage, 'When you ask, it will be given unto you'. What does that mean? Anything I ask?? That's like saying, 'God, the doctors have all given up on me, but I'm asking You to cure me from stage 4 cancer, and this scripture says that You will give me that cure!' I believe this passage is an open invitation to seek help and guidance through prayer, with faith that we will be heard and will receive answers… His answers! It is about asking instead of demanding, and seeking to hear and understand what it is that He wants. It is never about our own glory or benefit. 

The song 'Jesus Name' is a call to action, an encouragement to let everything you do bring glory to Jesus. It's about asking with humility, seeking with intent, and knocking with a childlike trust that God's door is always open. 

Next time you are feeling lost, or you are starting to doubt if God hears your prayers, let this song remind you of the power vested in Jesus' name. This goes way beyond ending your prayers with the words 'In Jesus' Name.' It's a declaration, a statement of faith, believing in the power of His name over every aspect of our lives. 

I trust you will enjoy the song and let it remind you of the unfailing love and power found in Jesus' name.

"Paper Lantern Heart" by MK Green: When God Lights a Fire You Can't Contain

What happens when God lights a fire in you?  Some fires refuse to stay hidden. MK Green wrote “Paper Lantern Heart” around that exact truth, inspired by Jeremiah 20:9, where the prophet admits that he tried to stop preaching but simply couldn’t. "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" by Gethsemane Instrumental: Finding Steady Ground in the Storm

God’s mercies are new every morning — do you notice? “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by Gethsemane Instrumental is one of the tracks in John Long’s upcoming instrumental project. Gethsemane Instrumental is a space for prayer, a quiet room where listeners can sit with Jesus without distraction. Hardships visited John more than once. He also went through Ministry seasons that tested him in ways that could have hollowed him out.
