'I Wait For You' by Alane J: Finding God in the Waiting


Alane J's song, 'I Wait For You,' isn't about the silent, passive act of waiting. It focuses on active waiting that requires faith, especially when the waiting is for healing or for things to change for the better. What I also like about this song is Alane's honesty and vulnerability. As you listen to the lyrics, you may even start to recognize elements of your own waiting. When she sings about waiting for healing, for a sign, or just simply to be more aware of God's presence, it's as if Alane is also giving a voice to our own thoughts and prayers.

It's a song for anyone who has hoped, believed, or just needed to know that they are loved and not alone. Alane has beautifully used her own experience to give others hope. Let 'I Wait For You' remind you that waiting isn't solely about the end result; it's also about our thoughts and mindset along the way. A key point is to focus on the light, even if it seems to be far away, and allow God's spirit to move and shape our hearts and lead us forward. There is a promise of something beautiful on the horizon with every wait. There is good in waiting, so don't give up.

"Meet Me in the Valley" by Tasha Layton: God in the Low Places

We've all experienced times in our lives when everything feels impossible, and it feels like God is nowhere near. Tasha Layton sings about that very struggle in her song, "Meet Me in the Valley." Tasha calls out those painful moments and places them in the context of promises that you can read in Psalm 23. God promises that goodness and mercy will follow us, even through life's darkest seasons.  Tasha shared the main takeaway of this song on her Instagram account: "You are not forgotten.
