'Who Jesus Is' - Laura Williams: Finding Christ and Your True Calling

Laura Williams' song 'Who Jesus Is' is about seeing Jesus more clearly in the everyday.

Laura Williams - Who Jesus IsThe journey to this song is very personal. Laura recalls, 'No matter what I end up doing with my life, I want to show people who Jesus is.' Her return to Jesus as a teenager brought clarity about His character - His goodness and grace - every time she faltered. This song tells her personal story of knowing Jesus and when she realized that her true calling was to pursue Christian music.

Laura's message is simple, everything we do in our lives should point to Him. The lyrics, e.g. 'If I speak, let it sound like grace; If I move, let me walk in faith,' are a call to let His love and truth shine through us, no matter the stage of life we're in.

At first, Laura really wanted to be in pop music, but the Lord slowly changed her heart and desires to show her that she was meant to be in Christian music. Now, she is so happy and fulfilled that the Lord led her to this genre.

If you're looking for a song about finding your purpose, then give 'Who Jesus Is' a listen. I hope that this song makes you want to follow Him and live out your faith every day.

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Heartbeat" by Laura Leighe - Dancing in Worship

Here's a song that's more or less been stuck in my head since I heard it. It's called 'Heartbeat' by Laura Leighe and is what Laura calls a "reggaeton-influenced Christian pop duet" that's all about surrendering to God's rhythm and dancing in worship, no matter what life throws your way.  The lyrics remind me of two scriptures: "Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe."  - Psalm 150:4 (NIV) and "Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might."  - 2 Samuel 6:14 (NIV). Maybe I'm a bit prejudiced because the song reminds us of our own thoughts when we founded "Christian Dance" years ago and picked a name. Focusing on music that allows us to feel joy and causes us (our hearts) to dance for God, a pure form of worship that we know is pleasing to God. The lyrics are about surrendering our control and trusting in God's plan. Laura sings, "I bet you f...

'Whatever It Takes – Acoustic' by Stephen Stanley: Embracing Divine Grace Amid Trial

Stephen Stanley vividly portrays the profound journey of faith in his moving acoustic rendition of the song 'Whatever It Takes'. His sincerity echoes the difficulties of completely surrendering one's heart to God despite being burdened by past mistakes and self-doubt. However, as we all know, the journey to the divine, while difficult, ultimately changes everything. 'Whatever it Takes,' a testament to Stanley's commitment, is a vocal affirmation to live continuously for God. The lyrics touch listeners' hearts as he admits, 'I've been reckless with my heart / Now I'm falling apart'; a message that many can relate to. This bold declaration is followed by a powerful surrender: 'I don't wanna be the same / I need You to be the change / I surrender all I am.' Stanley's song reaches out to everyone who has struggled with their shortcomings and leads them to the comforting presence of God. Self-doubt and the fear of falling may plagu...
