"Of All The World" by Robert Peterson and The Crusade: A Wake-Up Call to Notice Him

"Of All The World" by Robert Peterson and The Crusade's is a thought-provoking song about recognizing God. Possibly we are so busy with our lives or distracted by all of the noise that we need to ask ourselves if we would even have noticed if God hadn't been there. It's a piercing question: "Would you know the difference, if I wasn't in your life?" This isn't a song that is wagging a finger to express disapproval, but it does get you thinking.

Robert Peterson and The Crusade - Of All The WorldThe lyrics continue the thought-provoking tension with lines like "Would you be too busy and not see me standing there." It is so easy to overlook His presence when distractions are screaming for our attention! "Has the world become so loud and clamoring with noise," and maybe the slightest hesitation in our answer may be a good reason to double-check how we are staying connected with Him. The following lines in chorus might help with that check… "Would you know … could you tell… if I never had arrived." This song urges us to honestly ask ourselves whether we're truly living out our faith or just going through the motions.

This isn't just a song but a mirror held up to our spiritual walk. Are we "talking the talk" or "walking the walk"? I know that the lyrics got me thinking as I was listening, and I welcome the introspection and reconnection. So, if you enjoy music that both challenges and inspires, then give this song a listen.

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Tucker's Song" by Stephen M. Miller: A Tender Tribute to a Loyal Friend

Beneath this gentle Americana-style song, "Tucker's Song" by Stephen M. Miller, is the heartbreak of a seven-year-old boy. The day his grandson had to say goodbye to his dog, Tucker, he asked Stephen, "Will you write a song for Tucker? Can we pretend he's still around?" How can you not say "Yes" to such a request?  This song offers comfort by simply being honest. Instead of dramatizing the grief, the message sits with it and invites the listener to reflect as well. It's lines like "Sing the song to Tucker, sing to all dogs gone away" that remind us that precious memories endure. Have you ever asked yourself how to comfort a grieving child? I know that these situations often remind me that we're all searching for hope after more than one loss! On top of that, how can you extend that hope to a grieving child? Even in situations like the loss of a dear four-legged pet, there is a message of faith to be found: "Sing to God, the...
