"Christ Alone" by Michelle K: One Australian, One African Choir, One Unshakeable Truth

Michelle K - Christ Alone

Michelle K doesn't write from a distance. Christ Alone comes from a place of genuine need - describing us / herself as "a broken vessel, stumbling forward held together by the grace of God." This is the kind of honesty that makes the message of this Australian-made Afro-pop worship track hit deeper. In this performance, Michelle is supported by the powerful African voices of Ichos Gospel Music Team.

The foundation in these lyrics is unshakeable. When Michelle sings "Christ alone my firm foundation, on this solid rock I stand," she is sharing a powerful testimony. The kind that comes from actually having found something solid beneath your feet. So, when life floods in and the ground shifts, we may know that there is something stable to hold to.

Michelle asks, what are you standing on? What is your hope actually based on when everything around you shifts and fades, and what remains? Her answer is clear. "Far be it from me to trust in idols // For my hope is in you Lord." The world fades, flowers wilt, but only One remains forever.

The song becomes even more alive when you hear a room full of voices declaring the same truth. Ordinary people. One extraordinary God. And with Him, we may overcome even in chains, even in sorrow and pain. In Him we are sons and daughters of the Most High, chosen and unshakeable.

So, press play. May this song inspire you to find your foundation in Him. "I will be found in you alone."

Background:

Australia fused into Africa - it’s a pop/Afro/gospel song to lift your heart to worship!

Beneath this polished version of me is a broken vessel, stumbling forward held together by the grace of God. Looked upon with pure love and I think His light has shined deeper through the broken cracks—because that’s what He does with the broken and the poor in spirit. Finally using the colours from my Picasso shirt. Like true artist!

Any beauty, any song, any good thing—it all belongs to Him. Christ alone.

As sons and daughters of the most High King, we reign with him from a place of belonging, in heavenly places with Him, there’s no “unchosen” in the Kingdom! I’m singing praise for the Lion of the tribe of Judah who has overcome! And like Him we overcome even in chains, Even in sorrow and pain. Paul wrote Ephesians from a Goal. You’ve been given His authority to sing or preach the gospel no matter your circumstances! How you feel or what’s gone down today, He calls you righteous and only the WORD of the gospel does the work, it will last.

Rhett Walker - Man on the Middle Cross (CCM)

Rhett Walker's CCM song, 'Man on the Middle Cross,' is a powerful reflection on the profound impact of God's grace and mercy. The song was inspired by a sermon by Alistair Begg, focusing on the two men crucified alongside Jesus, and the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice. The lyrics vividly describe the scene of three wooden crosses on a hill, with two sinners on either side of Jesus. The first verse expresses the realization that, at times, we all can relate to the sinners on the crosses—feeling guilty, regretful, and undeserving of God's love and forgiveness. The chorus beautifully captures the experience of both sinners, acknowledging that one has been on the left, filled with guilt and regret, while the other has been on the right, always seeking conflict and thinking forgiveness is beyond reach. The overwhelming theme throughout the song is the recognition of God's grace and mercy, which are not earned or deserved but freely given to all. The br...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Meet Me in the Valley" by Tasha Layton: God in the Low Places

We've all experienced times in our lives when everything feels impossible, and it feels like God is nowhere near. Tasha Layton sings about that very struggle in her song, "Meet Me in the Valley." Tasha calls out those painful moments and places them in the context of promises that you can read in Psalm 23. God promises that goodness and mercy will follow us, even through life's darkest seasons.  Tasha shared the main takeaway of this song on her Instagram account: "You are not forgotten. You are not alone. God meets you right where you are."   We often aren't able to recognize His grace until we're desperately needing it, and honestly, we often don't appreciate what we have (and what He has given us) until everything falls apart. But instead of dwelling in despair, Tasha reminds us to look upwards, and ask for His help: "In the middle of the war // Tell me that I'll make it // When I'm not sure // You'll be faithful." We...
