"In Victory" by Veanea: Praise Is How You Live in Victory

Veanea - In Victory

Jesus rose. That changes everything about today.

Veanea had a simple goal: glorify the God of signs and wonders. What she didn’t expect was how quickly He would show up in the process.

Veanea had been working on a verse when a chorus for the song broke through — “Amazing signs and wonders King!” She sang it over and over, sat down at the keys, and the bridge practically wrote itself. That evening, she prayed honestly, telling God she couldn’t write about His wonders without completely depending on Him. The next morning, on a train, she opened her Bible to Psalm 66. The verses seemed to sing right off the page in the exact melody she’d just received. She laughed, realizing that God had already answered.

That same joy runs through every line of the song. “You calmed the storm and stilled the wind and Your arm split the sea // So I can walk ahead in victory.” The God who parted waters for Israel is the same God who is walking with you through whatever it is that you’re carrying today. His power doesn’t shrink to fit your circumstances.

The bridge packages the message of the song into a spiritual EDC (every day carry): “In Your house I come with freedom now // I celebrate new life and everlasting perfect love.” Not one day, but every day, and it starts now if you choose to accept. We read about this in Psalm 66:1–3: “Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name… Say to God, ‘How awesome are your deeds!’” Praise is how you walk in His victory.

As you go through your day, name what He’s already done. Let that be louder than what you’re still waiting for. “With Holy God I’m walking through my life — proclaiming victory.”

(Related scripture: Psalm 66:2–5; 1 Corinthians 15:57; Romans 8:37)

Background:

My desire with this song was simple: to glorify the God of signs and wonders – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. At the same time, it is also a very personal expression of my faith.

I believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and to fulfill His plan of salvation and victory for everyone who receives Him into their life. On the cross, He won the victory – even though He suffered a shameful and unjust death, He was without sin. Because of this, we can receive the gift of eternal life.

When I already had an early recorded version of one of the verses, a joyful chorus suddenly came to me: Amazing signs and wonders King!”

I kept singing it over and over again. I sat down at the keys, and the bridge practically wrote itself. There was so much joy in it.

I always dedicate every project to God in prayer. That evening, I told Him that writing about His wonders and signs is something very special to me, but I cannot do it on my own – I need to rely on Him completely.

The next morning, I was on a train and opened my Bible at Psalm 66. I read the Bible every morning, but this time something unusual happened – it felt like the verses were “singing” in front of my eyes in the same melody I had just received.

I couldn’t help but smile. I was honestly surprised by it. God was so quick in this process, and it made me laugh.

I immediately started writing lyrics inspired by the psalm, shaping them so they would naturally work as a song. I also reflected on a personal confession – how amazing it is that Jesus is with us in every situation, that He has given us victory, and that we can trust Him in everything.

Again, I was reminded of the story of Israel – how God performed great miracles when He brought His people out of Egypt. And at the same time, what a privilege we have today: to invite Him into our lives and walk in His love and victory.

"Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" by Stephen M. Miller: Holding On to Grace at Heaven’s Door

Stephen M. Miller's "Is Anybody There? (Psalm 27)" comes in the quiet aftermath of the Christmas celebrations, when reflection can feel like isolation. Stephen's song isn't about polishing away his mistakes, nor does it encourage you to do so with your mistakes. Stephen shares his painful experience, "I never saw it coming Lord // It felt right but it was wrong // Family and friends have left me // But I still have you and a song."   Stephen owns the fallout of his actions, taking accountability without despair. "I said it and I did it, Lord // Broke more hearts than I'll ever know // I can't fix this, though I've tried // Don't be angry, and please don't go." His song is a prayer for God's presence and guidance. "Hear me when I call you, Lord // Don't turn your face away // Don't give up on me like others have // Come help me through this day." Stephen describes a fear that we too experience when we ...

"Fishers of Men" by Tyler Philip Ratcliffe: Dropping Your Nets and Following Without Looking Back

Jesus doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.  “Fishers of Men” by Tyler Philip Ratcliffe was written back in July of 2024. It was the first Christian folk-style song that Tyler had ever written, and he had no idea at the time that God was going to pull him in that direction. It’s a favorite among his friends and family, and God recently laid it on his heart to share it with the rest of the world.  The song draws from the ordinary moments when Jesus walked up to fishermen and tax collectors and said two words that changed everything: “Follow Me.”   What strikes you in the lyrics is the honesty. “My friends thought I was crazy, and my folks just shook their heads.” Following Jesus has always looked strange from the outside. Peter left a fishing business. Matthew walked away from a lucrative government post. Neither of these men had it all figured out, but they simply responded to a call they couldn’t ignore.  Maybe you also know that feeling. The moment ...

"Forever" by Randy Wade: The God Who Has Always Been

The King who reigns forever also reigns over you. Before a single star burned in the sky, before the first mountain rose from the earth, God was. Worship Pastor and Contemporary Christian songwriter Rev. Randy Wade captures this in his song “Forever”, a song built on the unshakeable and eternal nature of God. “Before the mountains were lifted high, before the stars gave light to the sky, You O Lord have always been, the One with no beginning and no end.”   Randy wrote “Forever” to point our hearts toward Christ. The song pulls your gaze off the noise of daily life and fixes it on the One who exists outside of time. We have a God who doesn’t react to circumstances, but One who reigns above them. Revelation 1:8 declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” This scripture isn’t just a declaration; it can also be read as a personal promise. It is the same God who holds eternity in His hands who also holds your uncerta...
