Building 429 - Not Finished Yet (CCM)

Building 429 has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Not Finished Yet.

The band explains: “At a certain point in life, we all get a moment to take a cold, hard, unflinching look in the mirror and take stock of who we really are,” shares Jason Roy. “On a good day, I know that I can see love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The next day, if I’m honest, I might see the exact opposite. The truth is that the COVID pandemic gave us all a LOT of time to look in the mirror and see the things that we wish we knew how to change. I realized that the beginning of freedom and hope was the moment I finally admitted I didn’t have it all together and I still needed Jesus to complete the work in me.”

We've got both the video and the lyrics for you as well:

I've been known to hide my face when
I've been found in such dark places
I'm afraid to say what I've been through
Can't really hide a heart that's breaking
Or the many years I've wasted
I'm ashamed to say that it's all true

When I thought I'd been to the bottom
Thought I'd been to the very end
Took a cold, hard look in the mirror
Saw the face of my own sin
I was sure I had strayed too far
For you to heal my heart again
You said, child, lay down your sorrow
Cause I'm not finished yet

Woah...
I'm not finished yet

Got the scars that come from mistakes and
Cried the tears that come from Your grace
But I felt your hope rising up when I was changed

Oh, I thought I'd been to the bottom
Thought I'd been to the very end
Took a cold, hard look in the mirror
Saw the face of my own sin
I was sure I had strayed too far
For you to heal my heart again
You said, child, lay down your sorrow
I'm not finished yet

Your love, Your love keeps no record of wrongs
Your love, Your love, is calling me home
Back to where I belong

When I find myself at the bottom
I've got nothing left
You say, child, lay down your sorrow
I'm not finished yet

When I thought I'd been to the bottom
Thought I'd been to the very end
Took a cold, hard look in the mirror
Saw the face of my own sin
I was sure I had strayed too far
For you to heal my heart again
You said, child, lay down your sorrow
Cause I'm not finished yet

Woah...
I'm not finished yet
Woah...
I'm not finished yet
Woah...
I'm not finished yet
Woah...
I'm not finished yet
I'm not finished yet

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Oceans (Hillsong Cover)" by Tiffany Ford - Stepping into the Unknown with Faith

Life can at times feel like a stormy sea! Do you recognize that feeling? Tiffany Ford does, and Oceans by Hillsong is one of her 'go-to' songs for those rough times in life. She released a beautiful cover of Oceans, and shared how faith became her anchor when her life seemed so overwhelming. "Seemed" is the key word here, because in her moments of doubt and fear she discovered that God was meeting her exactly where she stood — by her side as she stood on shaky ground or in deep waters.  Oceans is a favorite for many readers, a song that describes the tension we feel between trust and uncertainty: "You call me out upon the waters / The great unknown where feet may fail." It's a beautiful invitation to step out of your comfort zone, even when it feels quite risky. With this cover, Tiffany is reminding us (and herself) that He is there when we get of our comfort zone. We can count on Him being there to guide us —  "Your sovereign hand will be my guide...

Brandon Lake - Praise You Anywhere (CCM)

'Praise You Anywhere' by Brandon Lake is a powerful anthem that encourages us to turn to praise in every season of life. No matter the circumstances we face, choosing to praise God will shift our perspective and ignite faith within us. The lyrics of the song remind us that in the midst of darkness, fire, and challenges, we can dance, sing, and praise God. We are called to worship even when it doesn't make sense and to boldly face the giants that stand before us. The song emphasizes the power of praising God in the highest, acknowledging His worthiness of all our praise. Brandon Lake's heartfelt message resonates with the reality that there are times when we find ourselves in prisons and battles. However, even in those moments, we can cry out to heaven, stand firm, and worship with our hands held high. The song encourages us to trust that God will bring us through, and in response, we will praise Him anywhere. The bridge of the song beautifully highlights God's faith...
