Rhys Warden - Like A River (CCM)

Rhys Warden's song 'Like A River' is a prayer for peace and a reminder of our identity as children of God. It is the second song on his EP titled 'Light & Momentary'. Rhys shares that the chorus is his personal prayer: 'Peace, flood my heart, flowing like a river through every part, and let it wash away any doubt that I was someone other than a child of God.'

The song was written during the 2020 lockdowns, a time of high stress and anxiety for everyone. Rhys found that this song helped him process these stressful times, and also a lot of what had been going on in his life during the past 10 years. He hopes that this song can bless others as it has blessed him.

Rhys Warden - Like A RiverThe lyrics speak of stepping out of darkness and into the light of God's love. Rhys asks for peace to flood all hearts and wash away any doubt about our identity as a child of God. The song speaks of the love of God that is patient, pure, and kind, and how there is no reason to hide from it.

'Like A River' is a beautiful song and Rhys' favorite song on the EP. He prays that the song encourages you to turn to God for peace and reminds you of your true identity as a child of God. The melody is soothing, and the lyrics are powerful, making this song a must-listen for those who need a reminder of God's love and peace.

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"Tucker's Song" by Stephen M. Miller: A Tender Tribute to a Loyal Friend

Beneath this gentle Americana-style song, "Tucker's Song" by Stephen M. Miller, is the heartbreak of a seven-year-old boy. The day his grandson had to say goodbye to his dog, Tucker, he asked Stephen, "Will you write a song for Tucker? Can we pretend he's still around?" How can you not say "Yes" to such a request?  This song offers comfort by simply being honest. Instead of dramatizing the grief, the message sits with it and invites the listener to reflect as well. It's lines like "Sing the song to Tucker, sing to all dogs gone away" that remind us that precious memories endure. Have you ever asked yourself how to comfort a grieving child? I know that these situations often remind me that we're all searching for hope after more than one loss! On top of that, how can you extend that hope to a grieving child? Even in situations like the loss of a dear four-legged pet, there is a message of faith to be found: "Sing to God, the...

"Praise My Way Through" by Chris Sarver: A powerful song that brings resilience in Faith, and Hope amidst the hopelessness.

Chris Sarver's latest single Praise My Way Through is part collaborative and part personal cathartic experience. I (Jasper) personally know Chris, and I'm familiar with his previous works, as well as the personal experience of fellow Christian singer-songwriter Maria Segerholm, to which Chris has drawn inspiration for this song. At that time, Maria declared that in her trying times, she'll just have to Praise her way through. It's amazing to know the personal story behind the creation of this song. And I could say that this perhaps is Chris' best song to date. Chris is a very much underrated Independent Christian Artist who always wears his heart on his sleeve for each song that he sings. And nothing has been more heartfelt than this song that he has written. Each note and soaring melody that accompanies the words of this song takes a life of its own, synchronizing with a powerful message of hope amidst the hopelessness. As Chris shares, the song is about trusting G...
