"Jesus, I Love You"by Derrick McDuffey & Kingdom Sound: When Words Fail, Sing Your Praise


Derrick McDuffey & Kingdom Sound released a song called "Jesus, I love You". "Jesus, I love You," three simple words, but these words carry more weight than a lifetime of sermons. The original song was written by the late James Hamler in the mid-90s, and Derrick McDuffey & Kingdom Sound are breathing new life into it with this release. The words "Jesus, I love You" are a mantra that every Christian may feel deep in their heart. Can you feel it? Do you hear that quiet whisper in you saying, "Lord, I want to thank you"? This song gives you the words for those moments in life when all other words fail.

Just like the lyrics in this song, our prayers don't have to be poetic. God isn't waiting for beautiful words. He wants to hear our raw thoughts, straight from the heart. He asks us to be real. 

Go ahead and follow the example given in this song. Start your conversation with God with a personal confession: "Jesus, I love You // I cannot tell it all // All You've done for me." James Hamler and now Derrick McDuffey create a vulnerability that sets the tone for a deeper understanding of His redemption and grace. 

What's beautiful is that we don't have to do this on our own. There is a reason why God invites us to be part of His body, His church… This becomes more clear in the chorus, where we are invited to a joint affirmation: "Anybody that loves the Lord // Let me hear you say 'yes, oh yes!'" This isn't a solo journey. We're invited to be part of a community and rise together. We don't need perfect pitch. We just need an open heart. 

So sing it, shout it, whisper it in your car, your kitchen, or at your bedside. May this truth echo beyond your lips. We all need to remember why we love Him!
