Some of us grew up believing that salvation works like a ledger. Read John 19:30: “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” Jesus didn’t resign; that was a declaration! The debt got paid in full, right there and then, and it didn’t require your signature.

So what does that mean for you today? Start by stopping to audit yourself. Stop treating prayer like a payment plan. You don’t need to perform your way into Love that already chose you before you could speak a word, let alone earn it. Reflect on that today. Say it out loud if you need to: “the fight is over, the verdict is in, and it isn’t the one you feared.”

May this song help you to understand what He meant by “It is Finished!” Sometimes truths land easier through a melody than a lecture. “It was never ours to finish… You already did.”
