Faith isn’t rushed. It’s walked out one day at a time.

Some songs describe a feeling. “Walk It Out” by Gresha Schuilling describes a decision. “Walk It Out” comes from a simple but life-changing realization: faith isn’t something you feel once and then file away. It’s something you do, step by step, each and every day. Gresha wrote this song around the fact that being in Christ isn’t a passive state. It’s active. It moves. In her opening lines, she set the tone for the song — “You brought me out of where I wandered // Set my direction firm and true.” That’s not a one-time rescue, it’s an ongoing walk, just like a parent with their child.

Notice the language used throughout the song: rhythm, pace, motion. “I am moving with intention // Not dependent on my sight,” a line that challenges a common misconception — that faith means that you should have it all figured out before you take the next step. The good news is that you don’t need to have it figured out. The chorus makes that clear: “I don’t have to run ahead // I don’t have to chase.” Grace sets the pace and the direction. You just have to stay in step with it. And whenever you can’t keep up, Grace will circle back to where you are.

This is also what Paul was telling the Colossians: “As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him” (Colossians 2:6). Received and walk — two different verbs, two different moments. Salvation happens once. Walking happens daily.

How can you apply this message today? Maybe it means releasing the pressure to have tomorrow figured out. Maybe it means trusting that the next step will make sense once you take it, not before. Just stop trying to see the whole road ahead. Just take the step in front of you, one step at a time. “Grace has taught my feet the rhythm of the road.”
