Freedom Heart - Release (CCM)

Freedom Heart has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Release.

SONG BACKGROUND

More recently, we all go through so much attack on our identities because the enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy who we are. “Made Perfect” is a song that depicts God’s view of us and that we are made perfect in His image. We don’t have to be anything else or anyone else. God sees us as perfect and if we just have that truth in us, we can have more freedom in our lives!

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

My mind is a battlefield

Thoughts waging war

Heart condemning

Threats possessing

there’s nothing I can do

To run away from despair

Guilt overwhelming

Shame accusing

Pre Chorus:

Pulling me down,  Further and further

I’m sinking down, Further and further

I can’t breathe, the walls closing in

It’s Suffocating, the walls closing in

Chorus:

When I bow down, You lift me up

As I surrender, all doubt melts away

The hold that’s been gripping me

is no more as I release

Verse 2:

Give myself permission

To end the oppression

Hope arising

Faith advancing

I open up my hands

Letting go of everything

Deliverance now

Redemption here

Pre Chorus 2:

I’m getting close,  closer and closer

Receiving freedom, Closer and closer

The past is done, there’s no more judgement

I can finally breathe, there’s no more judgement

Bridge:

Have it all, have it all

In the dark & ugly spaces

Take it all, take it all and

Make me whole

Have it all, have it all

In the dark & ugly spaces

Take it all, take it all and

Make me whole

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...

"Wanna Be Like You" by One Common: Letting Go of People-Pleasing for Good

"Wanna Be Like You" by One Common is an interesting song that was born out of this duo's struggles with wanting to please people and the pressure they felt to perform. The song reminds us to stop chasing others for their approval and start chasing Jesus instead. "I'm so done tryna be someone else just to keep people's attention," they sing. It can be very exhausting to constantly pretend and perform. The song reminds us to keep our hearts and lives centered on Jesus—the only one who truly is worthy of being our role model. Not for applause. Not for attention. But because His way is the only one that brings real peace and fulfillment in our lives.  The need to please others and perform is probably a feeling that many of us know all too well — but it doesn't have to define us.  The lyrics of the song put the issue right there on the table: "Who am I tryna be, who am I tryna please? That's the question." And the answer? Ofcourse, Jesus i...

"Chasing After You (Live)" by Our Church Youth: A Joyful Pursuit of God

Our Church Youth’s “Chasing After You (Live)” is a fun, upbeat song that reminds us that God relentlessly pursues our hearts. The backstory ties the song to Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” The song calls us to trust God, find purpose in His ways, and be filled with joy in Him. The lyrics encourage us to look around to see His hand: “Every sunrise I find // There’s nothing You can’t do.” All of nature points to His faithfulness, “Every sparrow flown high // Reminds me of the truth.” And in our own lives, when things feel overwhelming, like “This mountain in my way,” the song encourages us to let go of worry because “every star moves by design.” In the chorus we get to the key message of the song: “All that I want is all that You want // Is all that You plan for me // I’m chasing after You.” Our surrender to God, with a heart filled with gr...
