"My Father’s Voice" by Lucas Hampton: A Song of Grace Over Shame

"My Father's Voice" by Lucas Hampton is a powerful song about finding our true identity in Christ. In Christ there is no room for shame, no matter what we have done or how badly we have messed up our lives. Lucas reminds us that we find our worth in Jesus, even when others (or the shame we feel) are trying to tell us otherwise. Lucas emphasizes the truth that his love and grace are for us, and ultimately we belong to Jesus.

Lucas Hampton - My Father's VoiceThe lyrics hit hard right from the start: "I can't believe, the love you lavish over me / I am undone because of all that you have done for me." This is the awe-inspiring reality of God's grace for everyone who invites Him to be part of their lives. Letting God be part of our lives means: "I let my Father's voice define me, He's the only one who can / I tell my shame to get behind me, Cause that's not who I am." It's the best way to silence the lies and embrace His truth.

God is constantly at work with us, helping us to change our mindset and look to Him for everything: "You call me worthy, you call me loved / When I'm lost and broken you say I am enough." He is Grace, His arms are always open for us, ready to redefine the way that we see ourselves. May this song, with its rich instrumentation and powerful message, remind you Whose you truly are. May the Father's voice be the voice that leads your path.

"Hiding Place (Live)" by DBU Chapel Worship: Forgiven, Covered, and Free

How often do you hear worship songs being sung live in the comforts of your day-to-day living? For sure, there are a dime a dozen. Some you commonly share with the person next to you, featuring songs by popular Christian Artists. But there's a certain form of unique sincerity when one discovers a worship song that is yet to break through to a larger audience. This is how the song "Hiding Place" by DBU Chapel Worship featuring Olivia-Grace McKern felt like when I first listened to the song. It felt like a new testimony being told, of one's dedication to find God and remain in his presence.  Taking root from Psalm 32, the song is a collaboration of Olivia with a host of songwriters from the DBU Chapel Worship. Enriching her experience as a songwriter and moving her through the songwriting process. In perhaps a reflection of what the song eventually became, it wasn't so that Olivia conveniently hid behind the DBU Chapel Worship songwriters/musicians. This song is a c...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
