"Oceans (Hillsong Cover)" by Tiffany Ford - Stepping into the Unknown with Faith


Life can at times feel like a stormy sea! Do you recognize that feeling? Tiffany Ford does, and Oceans by Hillsong is one of her 'go-to' songs for those rough times in life. She released a beautiful cover of Oceans, and shared how faith became her anchor when her life seemed so overwhelming. "Seemed" is the key word here, because in her moments of doubt and fear she discovered that God was meeting her exactly where she stood — by her side as she stood on shaky ground or in deep waters.

It's a beautiful invitation to step out of your comfort zone, even when it feels quite risky. With this cover, Tiffany is reminding us (and herself) that He is there when we get of our comfort zone. We can count on Him being there to guide us — "Your sovereign hand will be my guide" — and His presence is going to lead us to peace amid chaos… if we follow His guidance! The song repeats, "Spirit lead me," echoing the prayer many of us need to pray: a prayer of surrender, openness, and reliance on His wisdom. 

Ocean is such a powerful song, and Tiffany's rendition is a welcome addition. If you're needing encouragement to really put your trust in God, then we recommend that you give this song a listen. Let it remind you that He's always near, and there to walk beside you and guide you all the way.

"Sunlight (Storge)" by Chelsea Chaisson: Reminisce the Simpler Times

I was kind of curious what the word "Storge" means, so I had to look it up. According to Wikipedia, "Storge is a Greek word that refers to natural, familial affection or love, particularly the bond between parents and children, as well as among family members and close friends. It is characterized by familiarity, dependence, and loyalty, often rooted in kinship bonds and shared experiences." Sounds very familiar?
