Walk By Faith by Haddon: Moving Beyond Doubt

Have you ever struggled with feelings of doubt? Then "Walk By Faith" by Haddon is definitely a song that will help to change your point of view! Haddon wrote this song when he was struggling with doubts. He shares that he felt like Peter when he tried walking on water. He was basing his faith on feelings in that moment, feelings of fear, doubt, and anxiety. Instead of letting those feelings control him, Hadon turned them into a prayer: "Lord take my doubts and throw them all away // I'm sinking down, help me walk by faith."

Haddon - Walk By FaithThe song talks about waiting for signs or emotional highs to feel close to God. But Haddon reminds us, "When faith is just a feeling // It's fleeting." Our feelings may constantly be going to and fro, but God's love for us does not. True trust isn't about what we can see or feel; it's all about stepping forward (the leap of faith) even when we think we can't. Haddon admits, "Took 20 years just to teach my heart // The things I can't see are what I need."

Lines like "Make no provisions for the flesh // Put on Jesus's righteousness" encourage us to stop relying on earthly securities and lean on God's strength. And as we journey on that road of faith, we may still cry out, "I don't need much, just to see if that's enough to part the sea." The song is so honest and relatable; it is as if Haddon is also singing this about my life.

If you have feelings of doubt or feel stuck, don't linger in those feelings. Haddon shares, "I can't think of a single time when sitting in my doubt has got me anywhere, whereas striving to live like Christ makes all the difference." May this song encourage you to keep moving forward in faith to be more like Christ.

PS: Don't forget to share it with someone who also needs to hear its truth.

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

"How Good You Are" by ECTaylor: His Goodness Shines in Our Darkest Places

ECTaylor wrote "How Good You Are" one early morning while sitting outside alone, watching the sunrise and listening to the peaceful sounds of the woods. After more than a share of life's challenges, ECTaylor felt something almost sacred as the first light of day broke through the trees. He speaks about a "deep, whispered reminder of God's goodness that shines even in our darkest places." The lyrics immediately set the tone, "When morning breaks with golden light, Your mercy lifts me from the night," a tone of hope. It's amazing how simple wonders of nature, like the sparrow's singing and the flowing of a river, can remind us of God and His constant presence. ECTaylor shares, "I thought about Paul, worshiping God from a prison cell. I finally began to understand just a bit of how he could praise and be thankful in the midst of pain—because when you truly see who God is, gratitude rises above circumstance." Sometimes we are trappe...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
