"Stand In Awe (Live)" by Perimeter Worship: Grace Upon the Cross


(by Jasper Tan) If you are looking for a very beautiful praise and worship song this month, then look no further than listening to Perimeter Worship's song "Stand In Awe." From the get-go, you'll feel the chills and the calming presence of the Holy Spirit as the opening notes are played. And the song gets right to it when the opening lines "Christ alone be lifted high, Christ alone be glorified" immediately glorify God. As Perimeter Worship shares, "'Stand in Awe' is a declaration of worship centering our hearts on Christ, reminding us of His finished work on the cross, and thanking Him for the grace He lavishly poured out for us. We worship with both humility and confidence, ascribing all majesty, power, and authority to Christ alone (Psalm 96:7–8)."

It's a call to worship with humility and confidence, ascribing all majesty, power, and authority to Jesus alone. When a worship song focuses solely on Jesus, you'll immediately know that such a song was written with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And that's why it shows with this song when I immediately felt the goosebumps enveloping me. Perhaps it was the presence of the Holy Spirit. I also broke out an impromptu Praise and Worship session as I watched the video of Perimeter Worship singing this song. It's pretty rare for me to be touched by a worship song through a video recording. It felt like I was transported in the praise and worship session and was there in person to witness the awesomeness of God's grace and glory. "Stand In Awe" is the first single from an upcoming live album that Perimeter Worship recorded at their church. They plan to release two more singles in the next two months. I can't wait to hear more of the songs that they could share with us.

"King Of All Nations" by Ezra Worship Initiative: Sing Today What Heaven Will Sing Forever

Your worship today echoes eternity. Ezra Worship Initiative trains young worship leaders through a ten-week, seminary-based internship. Their songwriters learn Scripture first and melody second. You can hear this in their latest release, “King Of All Nations,” a song written for congregations to sing. The song opens as a prayer: “May Your Name be proclaimed in all creation.” Who does the proclaiming? The Church does. The second verse asks God to “send Your Church to go and tell the gospel story,” which puts all who sing this right inside the request. Who on your street has never heard His name from you? Then the chorus lifts the roof: “All the honor, voices lifted to the King.” Worship here is not a performance. It is sung as a community, young and old, a multigenerational voice of praise. "No Other Name" by Joakim Arenius and Josef Tingbratt: Hope That Outlasts the Darkness

Darkness grips hard, but one name holds harder. Where do you turn when your strength runs out? Josef Tingbratt and Joakim Arenius wrote “No Other Name” for that moment. Their song follows a man who is “Restless weary and alone,” “So many miles from home.” Inner voices that treat him unkindly. Then a night raid brings brutal violence: “They tried to break his body down, but they could not break his crown.” Notice what he does when “darkness gets its grip.” He calls Jesus: “Jesus, Jesus hear my cry.” No fancy words, just a cry.
