"No Matter The Cost" by Amanda Janson: Trusting Through Refinement


Amanda Janson's "No Matter The Cost" came out of a season where following Jesus wasn't easy anymore and was actually costing her something. Have you ever felt, at times, that unconditional obedience simply didn't make sense? We know that true faith can ask us to release our expectations and choose to be obedient (emphasis on "choose").

It's a process that creates the necessary space for healing. Maybe the hardest part of this process is that He will ask us to lay things down. Things we love and things that cost us. 

Instead of focusing on what we lose, Amanda points our eyes to the cross. Because it is on the cross that He showed that we are worth it. He "bled for me" and "rose for me" no matter the cost. So, is He worth it to you? 

Decide today to say "I'm all in." Embrace the power to follow Him, not just in comfort, but also in those deep and difficult moments where you consciously need to choose to say "yes." May this song become your personal declaration and empower you to follow Him, and say "yes", no matter the cost.

The song came out of a season where following Jesus wasn’t easy anymore but it was actually costing me something. It was letting go of control, releasing expectations, choosing obedience when it didn’t make sense. Because the truth is, He will ask us to lay things down. Things we love. Things that cost us. And we have to decide…is He worth it? He decided we were worth it on the cross.

“No Matter the Cost” is the declaration of our deep and settled “yes!” Not just in the easy or comfortable moments but in the costly ones too.

"Man of Sorrows" by Lauren Gruwell: Jesus Feels Your Pain With You

Jesus knows your pain before you speak it. Lauren Gruwell knows what it is when Jesus feels unreachable. Trauma in her childhood left her with deep sorrow, and for years Jesus seemed too far away. "No Other Name" by Joakim Arenius and Josef Tingbratt: Hope That Outlasts the Darkness

Darkness grips hard, but one name holds harder. Where do you turn when your strength runs out? Josef Tingbratt and Joakim Arenius wrote “No Other Name” for that moment.
