"Nothing But The Blood," Jonathan Abel: The Only Fountain That Cleanses

What actually washes your sin away for good?

Robert Lowry wrote this hymn in 1876, and nearly 150 years later, it still stops people mid-sentence. Jonathan Abel strips “Nothing But The Blood” down to just piano, guitar, and his own voice, and he also made it the title track of his new EP. There’s nowhere to hide in an arrangement that bare. Just honest music and a question that hits you right from the start: “What can wash away my sin?” Not some technique. Not a resolution. Not even years of trying harder. The answer is simple, and the challenge is in accepting the answer… “Nothing but the blood of Jesus” can wash away my sin.

Jonathan Abel - Nothing But The BloodThink about that for a second. How many things have you tried to use to feel clean again? Apologies, self-improvement, sheer willpower. Whatever we try, none of it reaches those parts of us that actually need washing. Scripture names the one thing that does. 1 John 1:7 puts it this way: “The blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” Not “manages” or “covers it up”. Plain and simple, it’s the blood of Jesus that cleanses!

That one word (‘cleanses’) matters every day, and not just on a Sunday morning in church. Guilt has a way of resurfacing right when you thought you’d dealt with it. Instead of burying that guilt again, bring it back to this one truth. The blood of Jesus cleanses. You don’t need a new fountain. You already have one, and it never runs dry. Now let that truth settle into your heart and soul today. Stop searching for a better way to feel clean again. Rest in the One that’s already finished.

Hit play on this song and let it remind you where real peace comes from. As Jonathan Abel sings, “no other fount I know.”

"Back to Life" by James Bizak: Power in the Name of Jesus With Pop Punk Sound

"Back to Life" by James Bizak is a raw, high-energy pop punk track with a bold Christian truth… Whenever we are feeling broken or lost, we will find hope and redemption in Jesus. The choice of this genre is intended to reach a wider audience, as well as more youth, right where they are—possibly feeling broken, abandoned, or even feeling dead inside.  The lyrics reflect a pain and emptiness that so many people are feeling: "I've been broken // Beaten down // My faith stolen." The song acknowledges our feelings of despair, and even more important, it points us to hope, "There's power in your blood // There's power in the name of Jesus." With lines like "When I was dead inside // You brought me back to life," the lyrics emphasize that redemption and restoration can only be found in Him.  James Bizak highlights that Jesus has ultimate authority over darkness, "You see me surrounded // The demons fall back. // … // A sea of never e...

It's an upbeat worship song written and performed by Josh, and what makes this release even more intriguing is that Josh is a super talented 15-year-old singer-songwriter. The song is all about the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, and celebrates God's constant goodness and grace. The lyrics remind us that He is with us in every moment, day, or night, through both joy and hardship.  With lyrics like "I see You rising like a wave // I see Yo u falling like the rain," Josh emphasizes that we can see God in every situation. He's right there with us through all of our ups and downs, offering us hope and ready to guide us (if we reach out and listen). "You're by my side // Until the end of time."
